I saw one on kijiji or lespacs for 20 000$ i think is the price.
Why you don't buy a 1.3l tt is the best engine, but you have to do some work to make it relable
Think about it !!
Rotary is the best

I've only seen 1 FD for sale. It was a RHD and I think it was 20-25k.

Certainly more available in the US.

LSx FD's are going for more than comparable 13Bs from what I've heard and seen - make of that what you will. Probably has somewhat to do with drop in, easy reliability, and 400HP in a car that handles great, and gets 30mpg, vs getting that power level from a 13B is a lot of money, work, and will reward you with a car that, while still a rotary, can get single digit mpg.

Recognizing that there's not a lot of LS FDs in Canada, if you do think about going to the US, make sure it can pass inspections/cert up here

Drop in? Really? Cause I've seen some pretty bad hack jobs from SHOPS that show that this isn't exactly Drop-in. And hey, if you wanted to drop in a reliable, fuel efficient 400 hp powerplant, you should just drop in a 6.7 Cummins. You'd get more torque too.

Yes, drop in No hacking, no cutting, just a subframe change, different tranny and diff mount, connect a couple of wires and away you go. Let the fun begin!!lol

Drop in, as in you can buy kits, so it doesn't have to be a lot of fab work. Any engine/transmission conversion is a fair bit of work - but the LSx is well documented, and unlike a Cummins, for example, it fits well and doesn't add much weight or screw the balance badly. Unlike the Cummins, LSx is not a huge, heavy lump of a motor.

Don't get me wrong, I like my rotary, but I'm not blind to the fact that if I want real power, I can spend a lot of money building and tuning a 13Bt, which we all know often means blown motors on the way to getting it right, or can go out and spend a bunch of money on a kit and a fairly bullet-proof salvage LS/transmission, and go that way - and get better mileage instead of worse, to boot, so I wouldn't feel so bad about driving it regularly either.

Sure, but for the same kind of coin, I'd just buy a professionally built "drop-in" 20B and walk on LSx swaps all day long.

Not to mention if you go about it properly, you can have a reliable 13BT that is faster than a stock/slightly mod'ed LSx swap for the same or less money. That's been my personal experience anyways (minus the iron I just blew last weekend )

Seriously though, if someone wants V8 power, I don't understand why they can't go out and just buy a Vette, leave the one line of rotary-powered chassis' to us...

/end V8-swap rant.

This could go on all day, so I will add.... everybody has an opinion, and we should leave it at that. Remember guys I still like the rotary.

Hmm, reasons for owning a bastardized FD: 1) Insurance 2) Piston engine 3) Looks

Sorry, but you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.

This time I am done, I swear!

4) reliability of the lsx 5)torque , and lots of it 6)low 11 second passes out of the box 7)fuel economy 8) costs A LOT less than building a 20b or a good 13b, from what ive heard 9) only adds 45lbs in total to the car, same if not better handling 10) its a 6 speed

im really getting sick of poeple oh no dont put a v8 this is the only car with a rotary. but when some one sticks in a 2jz heyman thats a bad *** swap. i love the all rx7 especiall the second gen but if some one does a bad *** build im not going to hate on their car just because it has a v8. i love rotary engine dont get me wong but if some one want a v8 in the car dont bitch because it something you would not do, its there car and they want addvice to help build it not people getting butt hurt because he wants to swap his car.
