Track Day Info requested.

Does anyone know what the cost for organizing a track day?
Besides from the rental fee of the track, are there any other imperative cost that must be paid? Ambulance? Medical? Insurance? What are the liabilities involved?

If anyone can shine some light, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I hope you guys can make it to the meet on Sunday. I was talking to RacerJason on the weekend about organizing a track day for the club. It would be great if you guys could help out in organizing it.

Not worth it don't waste your time but if you wanna give it a shot, go for it. Last year I tried soo hard to get poeple to come out it was all set. I had the track ready, called the insurance company organized the ambulance, corner marshals, and the tow truck all of which is needed. Anyways just check my Old thread under my old name REXPWR

Out of all the guys that comitted only 1 showed up to give deposit from the rx7 forum!!

Well I can understand your apprehension but keep in mind that we are teaming up with the 8 guys too. I think that we could easily get 20-25 participants. It may be too late in the season to plan our own event this year but we can definately start planning and getting a track day crew together. Well regardless I hope to see you all on Sunday.

I have been involved in organizing track day for the last 12 years. Depending on the track you rent will depend on what you need. At mosport you will need an ambulance, corner marshalls, medical and tow trucks. They will not rent you the track if you have more than 5 cars without those things. You can count on about $10,000 in costs. Shannonville is much easier, all you need is to rent the track. The hardest thing about any of this is the people. The people who say they will show and usually dont, the people who say they will usually help and dont. It is much much easier to tag along with someone who has already committed to spending the money and all you have to do is show up and drive. If you need any more info call me at 416-605-1449

We've tried to organize ones in the past. No one here beyond a few people is interested in actually doing one. Go to http://www.shannonville.com/ and go to "track and facility rental" - "pricing." Prices for a full day start @ $2247.00 You're far better off just going to events that have been organized by others.
