Tokyo Motor Imports
Anyone ever dealt with this company before, I seen they had a couple of Turbo II's for pretty cheap and just wondering if I should be weary before selling my N/A and getting one of theirs.

Descent shop, Like any other jdm dealer you have to know what your looking for.
those cars were pretty descent, but i dont think they have them anymore. I was there 2 or 3 years ago and they were taking the motor/transmission out for 2 customers. If they do probably just shells.
( most of the montreal jdm shops stop carrying rhd japanese cars 2 years ago after the rhd ban/ cant insure any new imports.

Insuring any new ( after 2010 ) RHD in QUEBEC is not possible unless it was imported/registered before the ban.
Right-Hand Drive | Road Safety | SAAQ
So yes, RHD cars are banned int he province of QUEBEC, Quebec being the biggest importer of RHD cars for the 3 or 4 years they could.
and for clarification, Imports in my contect meant RHD cars imported into Canada. Not your everyday none domestic car we call import such as hyudai civic etc

the ban was effective in 2009.
Tokyo Motors is ok. but not the best. If you can grab an engine from Nagano, they are the best, but ForceFed buy all of their rotaries and 2jz. :p
Otherwise try JDM Montreal.

Insurers don't hate anything, except what costs them too much in losses. So presumably RHD's might be racking up too many claims. That might be because RHD are somewhat less safe on a road system built around LHD - particularly the already relatively dangerous acts of making LH turns and passing on the left - or it may be just as much or more because RHD's are often sports cars, and often driven by younger drivers - who crash them for the same reasons young drivers in general do, inexperience and hubris. Either way, you have a situation where insurers may choose not to insure.
