Thinking of Selling my baby

I have owned my 1993 RX-7 R1 since May of 1998 and the car has been a lot of fun and a lot of headaches, but I've always loved the hobby. I think it might be time to let go and start something new.....I've always been more of a builder then a driver that's why my car sits in the garage more then I drive it.
So I am just wondering if I can get a reasonable amount of money for the car I will let it go.
What do you guys think its worth?

Should I make a list of mods or does the car speak for itself??

I still remember the car when it was still rotary power.

How's married life treating you?

I heard about your car, and I hope it all works out for you.

I frequent norotors often, and the asking price seems to vary wildly. Running swaps seem to start around 15k and climb up. One of the benefits of you have is there are not many swaps up here and as such people seem to ask much more.

At the end of the day it is difficult to find a buyer for an expensive old car. Not many people have that kind of disposable income.

Your right my car is rare here and most people just don't have the money or can justify the money for an older vehicle.
If I can't get a good amount for the car I will keep it and build a crazy motor, I always wanted to go 9's in the quarter mile.
What I can do for any potential buyer, is that i can install a motor of their choice in the car at no charge labour....motor will be their choice and their $$$.

yeah, once you get married, there really isn't any more patience or room for the FD.

Good luck with the sale. If not, build away!!

Are you trying to say my car is slow in the corners?? lol

Don't be sorry, I am just looking at other avenues or I will build it into the 9 sec monster I always wanted..... drag racing was my first love.

My current motor is toast, I have been searching for something new and in the mean time I have learned what happened to mine....you can only push stock pistons and rods so far.....then they give up. At first I thought i spun a rod bearing but that was not the case.

This is my opinion of course but it seems most rx7's around the 25k range do not sell or do not sell quickly. Regardless of what kind of work that has gone in to the car it just seems to be that threshold. Looking at running 20b or lsx conversations on the net I often see the same thing.

Many of those cars have been for sale a very long time. It certainly isn't because they are not worth it. I'm positive the cars cost much more than 25k to build but they just don't sell. Factor in other variables like a blown engine and the chance of selling it near that price range seems almost impossible.

Again I don't want to sound negative, just sharing my opinion.

If you don't need the money and your wife isn't bugging you to sell it, then don't sell it. That's my advice.

I love the FD I have now, but I regret ever selling my 87 T2.

I wanted to take a look at your car before I start my lsx swap. I guess I better come look at it soon.

I think I like the build more that the drive myself too. I've put on about 10k on my car since buying it in '96.

I think its because for 25K++ you can buy alot of cars. Alot of car. Z06 corvettes are easy money. Only problem is I hate the look of the corvette. The FD is just so beautiful. I would love an FD with a V8 motor just because I have been rotary for 20+ years and will always have my 10th AE so its ok to own a FD with a V8

Look at it this way.....I'm in no rush and may never sell....I'm exploring my options, I won't give the car away.
The other option might be a 7.0L 427 cubic inch monster....but my road course days might be done....back to the drag strip....lol

You have an amazing car. Super clean. rare as far as I'm concerned. If you do sell it someone is getting alot of car. 7.0L wow!!

All you can do is post a sale and see what comes out of it. It all depends really on what your next toy is and the cost of the next toy

Your finally selling it Paul. I remember this car 10 years ago at Magnus (at Marco's old shop) when it had the GT42R set up with the bronze TE37's, and use to clean house at king of the streets! lol

Very clean car, and you have put lots of hard work into it, but I agree its time to move on and start something new. For your sake, hope the right buyer comes along and gives you what you want for it.

Don't give it away though man! That is a LHD car, so much better.
