Someones been misbehaving in the Gravenhurst/Bracebridge area!!!!
So I was up north at my cottage near Gravenhurst this past weekend and I go into town for some dinner. As I reach town I notice that every OPP car I pass is really grilling me. I think it a possibility that it may be my full RB exhaust but I get to the restaurant and think no more about it.
Done dinner and I'm leaving town. I'm at the main intersection at town at a red with another OPP car facing me on the other side of the intersection. As the light turns green the cop and I pass and this grilling is absolutely stone cold. I continue slowly on my way through the intersection with my eyes in my rearview fully expecting......yep...i was right...........cop makes a fast u and on go the cherry pickers.
I quickly pull to the side and shut down my stinky ride. As the cop comes up my vehicle he's checkin her out pretty hardcore. "Hey, How ya doin?" says the officer. "Fine, Is there a reason you pulled me over?" I reply. he asks me if im from around there and if I was in a certain location last week. to which i reply no and he asks to see my licence to verify that I am from Toronto like I stated. After that he starts telling em the story......
Too make a long story short and not overly detailed as to locations of events. The guy has been pulling over every RX7 he has seen in the past week since he got in a high speed chase with one which got away. According to the cop there were like 2 or 3 cars after someone for a good while.
I ask the cop "was it a convertible?", pointing to up to my obvious drop top...he says "oh...um i dunno...it was at night. Yeah ive just been harassing every RX7 and Supra I see. This things rear wheel drive right??" I ask him how he knows where abouts this mysterious RX7 driver is from and he kind of avoids answering the question....
anyway kinda weird.....as I probed the cop a little more his story sort of fell apart....definately a 7 to begin with then a Supra or 7.....rear wheel drive car...If it was a 7 on hear I would stay away from Gtown.

most cops i deal with will try and write me up for something so pathetic is expected from a cop. widened exhaust, illegaly moddified. speeding :P, i've had a few cops make up numbers. the only 2 times i've been caught for ACTUALLY speeding, i admited to.
i can usually just ask the cop very nicely Y, he believes i deserve the ticket and they usually won't come out and it's b/c i'm a kid with a sports car, so they leave me alone.

An officer named T.K. Bell is notorious in the rural areas around Calgary. In particular he's very uptight about window tint; he carries a razor and tells you to remove it right now on the side of the road or he'll tow your car. So everyone calls him the Tint ****, or else Taco Bell.

That is crazy Alak!
He is a jerk, no doubt. Was hatch window illegal to tint back then? As I understand the law, it's anything from the driver position forward that can't have any material applied to it. BTW if you could ever find colored glass it would be legal. I've always been on the lookout for a shop that could smoke glass to actually change it's color... You'd think it should be possible.

Hatch (rear window Tint)
As long as you have side rear view mirrors, your hatch can be made of sheet metal and still be legal.
My rear window is limo tint and I have only been questioned once on the legallity of it.
The officer backed off when I told him I inquired before having it done,
and the law said in Ontario it is okay as long as you have rear view mirrors on both sides of the vehicle.
Check the net for verification of Ontario Tint Laws.
