Shout out to Can-Saf
I'm guessing most of you know of Can-Saf Automotive in Oshawa. I just wanted to tell them and everyone how great these guys actually are. Ivan, Kurt and Marlon go well above what is normally expected. A couple of weeks ago at Mosport we were pitted beside them for the BEMC regional race on Sunday. Our RX7 race car broke its Mazdacomp 4spd tranny again. It has become way too hard to try and find any parts etc for that gearbox and we were ready to pack it in for the season. I had decided that over the winter we would just install a stock T2 gear box and live with the crappy ratios. I put a post out looking to buy one and the Can-saf guys just up and gave us one they had along with 2 starters to ensure we could get going again. Unfortunately it too us too long to get all the parts needed to swap from a n/a to turbo trans and the car was finished about 6pm tonight. It is very rare these days to find people so generous as the Can-saf guys have been to me and my team and I just want them to know how much we at ABR really appreciate it!

Al, I want to second the thumbs up to the Can Saf guys. On that same weekend I broke 2 wheel studs on my car and I was about to give up and go home. Kurt came over with other guys from his team and offered a great solution to the problem. They offered any wheel studs that they had with them to help get us going again. We tried, but they were too small and we finally found some with another team that was running that weekend, Simone Motorsport out of Newmarket.
I can say that I have always found the guys at Can-Saf to be great to talk to and ready to help at a moments notice. They epitomize the friendly attitude of most racers and I always enjoy seeing them.
Thanks guys.
Eric
(by the way Al, isn't it great that I got through this without mentioning the guy that blew me off when I talked to him! Karma can be a b!tch and I hope it spares him.)
