I have a minor issue with my idle for my rx7, but since I know nothing about the ratsnest or dealing with the tps I need someone else to look at it but the only shop I know of is 1 hour away, does anyone know a good shop or person in Mississauga that can help me out,

Thanks

This question has been asked so many times, including at least 3 times in the last month or so. Please read the sticky. If you can't make it to any of those shops, PM me I can fix it for you.

Absolutely nothing. I have never been there, I have never seen the man or talked to him, nor am I interested. I am only ears and witness to what he has done to tarnish the rotary community over the years and ruin peoples dreams projects while lying, stealing, making you spend thousands, and not honoring his work. Every shop will have its handfull of a few customers who were not happy for whatever reason but with Streetpower, it is every single person I talk to its the same story over and over and over. Its sickening and I am tired of hearing and seeing it. I've held my tongue long enough out of respect for a business, I can't do it anymore.

Since I am the only active rotary tuner in pretty much all of Ontario (as well as out of out of province and some stateside too), I see cars from countless shops. Every shop, there is always something I can nitpick about. But these things are minor and I've just come to consider it standard. I just inform the owner what I see and tell them to fix it or I can fix it depending on if I have time. Except with Streetpower it is not standard, its more like take your car there if you want to get screwed in one form or another. Take your car anywhere BUT Streetpower.

I live in Milton; I go to Pickering for service. The shop I go to is next to the Pickering GO Station, which makes dropping the car off and picking it up much easier. If you don;t already have it, get a Roadside Assistance plan (CAA etc) that includes long distance towing and flatbed service. Sooner or later, you will need it.

Thank god for Mazdees. I grew up in Pickering so if I need them to do something I can drop the car off and go visit with my mom for a while

I usually just drop it off in the afternoon and take the GO home, then come back a week later on the GO and drive it home. $13 one way from Milton to Pickering or vice versa is a great deal for the distance travelled.

I use Hagerty as my insurer for my FD, and for an extra $100 a year, they include 200km of flatbed towing with unlimited calls. I think CAA has limits on the number of calls.

Not taking sides here but probably the worst thing you can do as a business owner is bad mouth another shop. It just makes you look unprofessional and immature. This is especially true when you make statements with no factual basis. I have been in the industry for many years and have found that if a shop does poor quality work, the best thing you can do is strive to be even better and let your work and customers speak for it.

I know Streetpower pretty well, he's worked on my car and my brothers a few times and we've never had a bad experience. I have even met a lot of his costumers that all seem to be pleased. I have actually only heard of one person that had negative things to say but he was a stupid punk kid that blew his motor because he couldn't drive, then blamed the shop lol

You can't make everyone happy. You will always have that customer that either through ignorance, lack of knowledge, or unrealistic expectations will not be happy.

I understand where your coming from, however I am not a business owner, I can say whatever I want in the interest of the rotary community. If I do start a business, I will be forced to take that attitude.

Not knowing the full story and obviously going on your short explanation. I didn't realize bad driving blows engines. Crash the car, sure, destroy the clutch, sure, break random parts, sure, engine no. These cars are ment to be beat on, not sit at car shows and look pretty (not that there is anything wrong with that though).

Sorry I should clarify. What I meant is that the kid was beating his engine up and did not do the proper maintenance for the car, which is what caused it to blow, and fairly quickly. It is common knowledge that if you want a powerful ride you must maintain it properly. And also the car was a honda, not a rotary.

Anyways, all of this is besides the point though. I know Streetpower personally and he is a trustworthy guy, and I would not give it a hesitation to send my car to him.

I guess you can't help the sheep, the people who got screwed thought he was a trustworthy guy too. Good luck with your car, I really do mean that. You will have no one to blame but yourself when the time comes. This video pretty much accurately describes the problem... The new kids don't do their research and then get screwed and cry. Ah well.
