Smile Sachs KM24 single rotor engine

Hi everyone. I'm new here and was hoping to get some help or a little advise. I have two KM-24 sachs wankel snowmobile engines. I would like to restore these. One is running and the other is disassembled for parts, but could be rebuilt.
Parts are very hard to find, but what I need at this point are new Apex seals. I read somewhere about possibly using old Mazda 12-A apex seals. Apparently there is a possibility of having them machined to the Sachs specs. I'm in Eastern Canada and am wondering where to find used 12-A seals. If this is do able it would be a great way to save a few of these old rotary engines. Thanks for your help and comments.

I'm by no means an engine builder, but I don't think used apex seals would be the wisest idea. You could look into mazdatrix, rotary aviation. There's some other vendors as well. Look into the vendor forums here. Rotary Resurrection may be of some help, but they mainly deal with motorbikes I think.

There should be plenty of sources for new 12A apex seals between Mazdatrix, Atkins, Rotary Aviation etc and won't be that expensive for just the steel seals.
I suppose a set of used ones might be worth it as an experiment to see if they can be machined down, but I wouldn't go to the trouble of a full rebuild and then put them in.

Where in Eastern Canada are you, BTW?

If all else fails try these guys. http://rotaryrecycle.com/index.html They mainly deal with motorcycles, but some of the motorcycles used the sachs engine. Also, I'm sure if you gave an original apex seal or even just the specs to a company like Atkins that makes their own seals they could custom make seals for you. Good luck.
