Rx7s in Junk Yards
Has anyone spotted any Rx7s in junkyards lately? It used to be that the ones around Ottawa always had one or two in them but I haven't been out to them in a while and now that I'm on the lookout for a few bits and pieces (carb, seats, rear carpet in burgundy) for an FB I'm fixing up, there don't seem to be any around.
Heck, might just be good to get a general Rx7 junkyard spotting thread going since they're getting rarer to find!

I'm on the lookout too - my car got heavily hail damaged at the end of July, and I need a plethora of large and small body parts, since my insurance payout would barely cover painting the car, let alone all the repairs.

Where's that? I don't mind a bit of a drive for some parts but the only "Bay Area" I'm familiar with is on the opposite coast of a different country, and would be like a 4+ day drive from here, lol.

The last time summer came it was so hot that all our Igloos melted and New Orleans went under water from the runoff.
I told the Guy at the border to move the beaver dam so it would divert the water to California as they were having a drought..but he wanted a Tim Horton's Coffee..and I just spent all my money on gas.
The thing is with every 20 bucks in gas..you get a Free Toque...for winter you know..

theres a beaten and picked apart s4 FC at bell city auto in brantford, and a pretty complete one at nicklin in guelph. There was a s5(?) vert at Mike's auto in stoney creek but I haven't been out there for quite a while (did find a megasquirt in it a few years ago though)

Yeah at various different times about 5yrs ago I found FBs at Standard Auto Wreckers and Kenny U-Pull in Ottawa but they've since disappeared. And some time before that all the rx7s at the infamous former Rx7Heaven were scrapped to pay debts they owed. That place had dozens and dozens of Rx7s and they were all crushed in one fell swoop. It was a sad day.

Just saw standard auto had an SA come in last week. Looked like a nice clean car in the pictures.
And there's still a few FCs and a couple FBs at the old home of rx7 heaven. The guy who owns the place seems to think they're worth a fortune though.

You pretty much will not find RX7 at mainstream wreckers in the Vancouver area. Pick-n-pulls are becoming scarce. Need to rely on individuals who may have a parts car or two in the backyard. Or buy a wreck and break it down yourself for future requirements. Of course, keep an eye out for parts you might need on this and other on-line sources. It seems the "wanted to buy" postings on here get responded to very quickly. I have bought parts from all over the world on ebay. It is interesting that the prices have harmonized globally with suppliers in Thailand and Malaysia, for example, adjusting their prices to allow for transport to North America. Yahoo Japan seems to have bargains. You need someone to access for you, or at least take care of the logistics for you in Japan.
