rx7 specialties in calgary alberta good or bad?
i am going to get some work done at the rx7 specialties shop in calgary, just wanted some feedback because a few guys said they didn't have very good luck there.... the shop is very convient as i only like about a half mile away, but if they are gonna mess my rx7 up and overcharge me i would just rather not bother.... i am getting an 84/85 engine ported and polished installed with a holley intake and a header exhaust system... he wants 4700 to do the job... i would like feedback on what he wants me to pay and what you guys have heard or have experienced from his shop?
thanks a bunch

I've had good luck with him. My car wouldn't idle and he ended up putting on a new used complete intake on.. Cost me $400 but got the job done. It sounded pretty fair for a used complete intake and labour.

I had Adam do an S5 turbo swap for me in December; he and his guy worked their tails off (until 7:00 pm on a Friday) to complete the job so I could take the car back to Sask in one day. Slight problem with hooking up the vacuum lines incorrectly on the boost controller solenoid, but it was easily figured out and corrected, and understandable considering how they had to rush to finish the job for me. Adam was very reasonable in what he charged me as well. No complaints and I'd take the car back to him again.

Revisiting old posts can answer lots of questions
This post should be closed please. It's like visiting the Calgary tower every 6 months. Very predictable outcome always happens. You go up the tower ... you go down the tower... ahhh the testament to mankind leaves you breathless.
Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home wine making course and I forgot how to drive?

^^ Searching old posts will just bring up alot of the old bullshit that isnt true or over exagerrated....bottom line is that Adam builds a strong engine.....i know cause i have one...he also backs them 100% so if u do have a problem he will fix it....i suggest if u need a rebuild to not hesitate to use Rx7 Specialties.....get your name on the build list....cause it gets longer and longer by the day

Rotate or go home!
I got a built up motor from Adam about 2 years ago. Also bought some RB springs from him. Took a few month to get my motor but I told him to take his time building it, I wanted a good, solid motor. Took me the rest of the year to get it installed and running, So far so good, motor runs great but I havent wound it out only 300 km since I put it on the road. I needed help to get it started and to sort some of the vacuum hose routing and he spent an hour os so on the phone guiding me through the process. He knows his rotaries.
My motor: Street Port, Turbo Housings, high compression rotors, lightened rotating assembly, Bonez intake, Racing Beat Headers, Bonez High flow catcon, unknown cat back.
I would deal with him again.

From my experience is that he's a really really busy man. Cash talks with him. It was a PITA to talk to him but as soon as I gave him the money my parts were shipped promptly and correctly. I would highly recommend him, just be patient with him knowing he's non stop busy.

Here we go, everybody ready?
Just kidding. Listen I suggest doing a search, most of what you'll find is not bullshit, and it's good to know.
I don't suggest bringing your car there, and if you've seen what I've seen you wouldnt want to. With that said you havent seen what I've seen so you'll probably bring it there anyways.
Adam is capable of building a motor that runs for the average person, it won't be a spectacular motor, it won't be a particularily strong motor, but it will start and run, and the average person provided they know that going in is content with that. And from the sounds of it, if it doesnt run he's been pretty good lately about dealing with that so.....
I have no desire to get in a flame war again, primarily cause I'm so out numbered on this forum now so this thread doesnt need to get closed I'll stay civil provided others do the same

Money Talks. Speed = $$$$. How Fast do you want to pay?
Theres alot of really good hobbiest rotary builders around. They tend to be VERY BUSY and difficult to get ahold of, as well as find. But a few of them are worth the hassle and wait.

Glad to see youaround TD07. Forum was beginning to seem a little......how do you say?.....Cold.
