RX Club of Ontario at Mosport ALMS
Mods please sticky.
RX Club of Ontario announces Rotary Campout 2005!
Time to dust of your camping gear! Join dozens of rotary enthusiasts and thousands of racing fans when the American Le Mans series visits Mosport International Raceway this September 2, 3, & 4. Could there be a better way to spend the long weekend then listening to the new 3-rotor prototype scream up the Andretti straight? Not a chance!
The RX Club of Ontario is organizing a mutual camping area and some activities to celebrate this once-a-year festival of speed and exotica. The details are as follows:
Date: September 2, 3, & 4 (1st also for hardcore individuals wishing to get a better close-up of the cars and witness the testing day, no ALMS cars on track though).
Venue: Mosport International Raceway Located 45 minutes east of Toronto, just north of Bowmanville we are lucky to have a true drivers track right in our own backyard.
Series visiting: American Le Mans, Speed World Challenge Touring and GT, Star Mazda Series (all rotary), Honda Michelin, & the Ontario Touring GT series
Admission: A weekend superticket is only $60 when purchased before August 31st. After that or at the gate the price is $75. This includes admission and paddock access only. General camping is $25 for up to 6 people before the 31st and $30 after. But its not like they ever check for camping passes shhhhh! For those interested in attending only one or two days individual daily tickets are also available from the link below. Friday $15, Saturday $30, and Sunday $35. Be aware that if you buy individual tickets at the gate that you have to purchase all three and the two you dont use are refunded on the way out the gate the same day (refunds up to one hour after the last race is competed).
RacerJason has been in discussions with B-K Motorsports to hopefully arrange for a meet and greet with the 3-rotor team, a close up viewing of the car and to field questions.
Start organizing your tents, sleeping bags, food and beverages soon! We will have one central fire and will either take a collection up for firewood that can be purchased outside the gates or if anyone can bring some with them it would be helpful.
Make plans now to join us for an unforgettable weekend!

I wonder why this wasn't sticky'd...
Anyhow, if I don't see more interest (we're at about 15 people right now) then I will be declining Mazda/B-K Motorsports invitation that I had asked for at Mid Ohio and Infineon. This is definitely the last time I go out of my way trying to arrange something.

You can sleep in your cars, heck you can sleep on the wall at turn 2 if you want. The atmosphere is very lax and cool,
We load in on Thursday and I'l be there all weekend. We'll talk beforehand.

The #23 Scarboro Mazda HelaCanada RX7 will be racing
I will be racing in the Touring GT Race Saturday afternoon. It looks like we have traced down the low oil pressure problem and should be good to go. The Touring GT Race is expected to have an ex-Archer Bros. Viper, an ex-Speed Protege, a present Speed Nissan Sentra, some crazy fast BMW's and of course my RX7. It should be a good day as if I can run as fast as I did last year I could place in the top 5 and maybe sneak onto the podium (only if it is dry). I want to put it into the 37's and will be ably assisted by Feds and his bride.
Our race is the last one on Saturday so I have a ton of time to meet with you guys on Friday and Saturday. Look forward to seeing all of you at the track.

Okay, I need an idea of those who are going to attend the Meet & Greet with the B-K Motorsports Mazdaspeed P2 ALMS team.
The plan is to meet at 12 noon at the telephones in front of the restarant (beside the take-out counter) in the paddock. From there myself or a member of the RX Club of Ontario will take the assembled group over to the B-K transporter. We'll have about 20-30 mins. to look over the car, ask questions, take pics, etc. On hand will be a Mazda racing rep/Mazdaspeed guy, both drivers, an engineer, and possibly a crew chief. Their may be some freebies at the conclusion also but I'm not guaranteeing anything yet!
So if you are attending the race on Saturday or are there for the whole weekend and are interested in this opportunity then add your name to the list below and repost. I have to get a number to Mazdaspeed asap.
Thanks, Jason

There's no way I'd miss ALMS.
I'll be there Sat & Sun. I'll probably catch up with everyone on Saturday, as Sunday I'll be there with some of my friends to cap off a stag party with some beers at the bottom of 4 just before the climb up into 5.

Crew Needed for ALMS Weekend
Just found out that I am short crew for this weekend. I have 2 open crew passes available and I am on track Friday and Saturday only. Sunday is a free day for you to come to the track and watch the ALMS for free.
For a minimal amount of work, checking tire pressures, bleeding brakes, wiping down the car, doing times, timing my 1 minute pitstop, I am offering free admittance to the track for the weekend, complete track access (including hot pit) and a free BBQ on Saturday night with all of the other Touring GT Teams. Enjoy racing from the inside.
P.M. or phone me at 905 339-2695 if you are interested.
Thanks Eric

Today and tomorrow are the last days for the early bird prices so pick up what you need now!
Great opportunity above to spend the weekend helping Eric. I'd be in line but I'm working the race itself. If you have the skills to help him out contact him! You'll enjoy it!
Stopped by the track yesterday and a handful of the teams have already arrived including the Risi Maserati and the Flying Lizard Porsches, and the Dysons.
No swap meet at this event. People will be bringing too much stuff as it is if they're staying for one or both nights.
So for the B-K Motorsports meet we have...
RacerJason (maybe)
Lawyers Spirit
HEVNSNT
20B-3Rotor + 1-2
firestarter
2k2Miata + 3
10year7

Please post if you want to be added to this list! And let me know who is planning on staying one or two nights as I'll be going up Thursday with some people to figure our where and how much space. Thanks, Jason
