I was just watching a commercial and part of it showed a beautiful red FB being crushed. why? WHY must this be?

In any case, post comments on any RX-7's that you've seen on Television. Mistreated or otherwise.

 

I was watching TLC with Evil Kanivel (Sp) , and he was jumping over about 10 tuner cars , Stis , Evos , FD , yada yada , but before he ran he got off his bike so he could run over to the crowd , and he picked the blue FD to jump on and run right over the damn car( Touring wing , roof , hood ... ugh... damn moron.

 

the monster garage one got about 10 billion bullets through it..
also on like the VERY FIRST episode of American HotRod, one of the guy's working there showed off for the camera and was doing donuts in his FB in the parking lot.

I was watching an episode of 'Dark Angel' and I spotted 3 different second gens in the background of a few scenes.

 

There is a green/black FD that bows down to the new Eclipse V6 in its ad...like that would ever happen

 

I guess this might be a little side tracked but... in the movie Office Space, there is a Red FD that is always parked beside Lumbergh's porsche

 

Hey ya, I noticed that too. Theres another movie I always watch and in this car scene theres a white FB in the background.



Die hard. Thats what It was. The cube van turns a corner and in one angle of the shot you can see an FB behind him about 10 car lengths.

You've got to be kidding. If the Eclipse were to loose about a 1000lbs and get back AWD, it might at least be something a 10yr old FD could respect - bow down to, never, but maybe respect

 

Actually, the new eclipse has a pretty stout engine. Pushes out more HP than the FD and can't be all that much heavier. Probably just can't handle nearly as well. Just look up the HP numbers on the new eclipse. Its rated at something like 268hp or somthing like that.

 

I drove a new eclipse. FD owns it any day.

 

No question it has a stout engine - 263hp. It's also quite a stout car at just under 3600lbs+ driver, and the weight distribution is 61/39, so those front tires are being asked to do a lot. I wasn't exagerating when I said it would need to lose a 1000lbs to be able to run with an FD in a straight line, let alone keep up in the corners.
The Nissan 350Z/Infiniti G35 and even the new Mustang GT offer more agility and muscle, although the Z/G35 twins are quite a bit higher priced. I see the new Eclipse as the spiritual successor to the Z cars and Supras of the 80's or the 70's Corvette - big, powerful, heavy GT cars, rather than real sports cars.
