Stop what you are doing and go see the movie Rush. I went to see it yesterday and it was flat out great. Women or whomever you significant other is (not judging), will really, really like it and the action scenes are very realistic and very good. A couple of CGI issues, but overall the movie was very good and and kept me interested from the beginning to the end.

I was 15 during that season and I remember it very well. If anything, the movie downplays all the real life drama that did take place. So ignore your Mazda love for an evening and get out to see it, it is totally worth it.

I fully intend to see this. It's a Ron Howard film and he IS a Good producer, being in the business since he was a kid.He knows how to bring the Film to life.

The only drawback is that the guy doesn't look at all like the guitarist Alex Lifeson..Or Geddy Lee...Chuckle!

I agree. Went to see it Saturday night and it was very well done. A few minor liberties taken with some items and timelines for purposes of story telling, but nothing significant. A very good telling of the story.
Also, I really enjoyed the fact that they used the proper cars, not replicas when possible. The sounds were actually correct which is a nice change of pace.

This is probably the first movie in a very long time that I'm looking forward to seeing a Blu-Ray with bonus features.

No kidding. I expect the Blu Ray with the "Making of Rush" to be almost as good as the movie. I still am wondering about the #34 Hesketh that they showed clipping a tire, breaking the rear suspension off of it. It had to be CGI, but it looked and behaved so realistically.

Now lets talk about the F3 spin sequence........ BLAAARRRGH.

Saw it Saturday, wish there was more real footage. Also, when you follow the history of F1 you realize how money killed the sport instead of growing it.

Fantastic movie. My wife and I felt like clapping when it was over. The race action and the sound were amazing. Of you have a chance, see it in Ultra AVX.

I saw it in Ultra AVX and totally agree. It was great.

Regarding the money issue, the 70's were good and the birth of big sponsorships, the 80's were sorta the sweetspot of being still relatively affordable for uber-rich individuals or scam artists and modest sponsor packages. The 90's went nuts and killed off a lot of the single owner teams and now F1 requires corporate money and GNP sized budgets.

Not the same at all, but we can all thank Bernie for this.
