IN FACT, I just finished filming a video that shows (if you count video frames to establish time/speed ie: 0-60, 100, 140 mph) that my FC is ALMOST (within one second) able to ****-kick my 390se. I play no favourites. I can't WAIT to show the TVR guys that they spent too much to go as fast.

i think his point was this is an rx-7club, people are going to talk about rx-7s...
The 3rd gen rx-7 is much rarer and more exotic then the other 2. obviously not as exotic as TVR's or many other cars.

Go ask Adam and rx7-spec.... I just dumped over 8 grand into my FC in ONE shot.
Not to mention the $1500 BEFORE that, and the $1700 before that too!
I'm total 7 fan, and I ONLY raised the TVR issue because I think FD guys act like snobs.

On another note, do you really think ill of me simply because I pointed out productin numbers? Pointing out "rarity" WAS NOT my intent... my intent was to get FD guys off their F-ing ivory tower!
When I pass on oncoming FB, I get a wave.... when I pass an oncoming FC, I get the same hand wave.... when I pass an FD, I get a SNEAR.... just calling it as I see it, and your car/my car has NOTHING to do with it.

You have to admit, to generalize all FD owners as snobs is pretty "high and mighty" of you.
As Rxcetera has said, out here in T.O. & Ottawa area we all get along. I get waves and the pop up headlights from all generation of RX-7's.
The ones I have yet to get any gesture from are RX-8 owners. Which is understandable. Totally different car, different demograph. But I don't go as far as saying they're snobs.
As for the TVR, that's cool you've got a unique car. I think it's the blue one you've posted a few posts above?
Personally, I don't like it. It's much to squarish and it's convertible. Different strokes for different folks. Do I think you're a snob?? No. I've never met you. I can't make any assumptions over some posts you've made on a internet forum. Regardless of how many posts you've compared RX-7's to TVR's.
I wouldn't mind seeing a modern TVR around here in T.O. Despite the fact they're constructed poorly, they have a very unique shape. Exclusivity is also a big factor.
So, bringing it back to the original subject, as I said before it'll be interesting to see a few RHD FD's roaming around the area. I think it'll impact the Vancouver area more than the T.O. area. Regardless, I've seen alot of Skylines appear over the years. So I can only assume we'll start seeing alot more FD's. I'm alright with it. The only thing that annoys me are the young punks who will be driving these vehicles.
I see RHD FD's disappearing faster than LHD kids because they're "cheaper" to get than LHD models sold here. Which makes them more accessible to kids who will inevitably smash them while attempting to street race!

I spotted 4 JDM FD's yesterday morning. Of the two I will note;
One was a beautiful condition silver. Looked Fairly stock as it still had the factory muffler.
The other was a painted faded, dented, corrosion starting on the wheel wells, half-body kitted, Huge muffler Red one. I would also note the kid kinda drove like an Axxhole. It did seem to run okay.
Sorry if thats anyone here. That was the impression I got when I seen it driving around.

The better the availibility of these vehicles the more people who will get to own them.
As for the lower prices allowing inexperienced or unresponsible youth to own them, it will work itself out. By that I mean they will damage the vehicle and it will become a parts car, as much as I hate to see it happen to an FD I would rather have a few reduced to nothing more than spare parts than prevent individuals from owning them who normally wouldnt be able to due to lack of availibility or pricing.
RHD vs LHD, LHD will always be more desirable in north america. Yes there are some who are willing to drive a RHD vehicle but the majority will never drive one. The price of LHD FD's will continue to remain high despite the imporation of RHD FDs.

This reasoning makes no sence. What proof do you have that those who buy a CDN FD have enough money to fix the car when it breaks down? Just cause you are buying a more expensive car doesn't mean that you have the extra money to fix it. There is tonnes of people who max out their credit just to buy a car. Also, the cheaper the car then usually the more money you have to spend on repairs.
If you are buying a car that you know is nutorious for breaking down, would you rather spend !6-18 grand on that car that will sit in your garage waiting for repairs, or would you spend 8-12 grand on that car? Easy decision for me.
Don't get me wrong, I give tonnes of credit to those who have a LHD FD. I would definatly prefer to have a LHD FD over a RHD FD. But I don't see why you have to insult those that buy a RHD FD.

Football22, keep us updated on the status of your FD. How many km's are on the fd you purchased? I also want a FD, but cannot afford to buy a LHD one. That doesn't make you, me or anyone else who is planning on buying a jdm fd poor. It's the same ******* car japan or north american.

Holy ****.. I bought a JDM FD because of availability. I had the money to buy a LHD FD.. and one that was in good condition, but the locations I looked at either had one that had super high mileage and was a complete piece of crap, or else it was garaged kept with a ridiculous asking price. I don't need a piece of crap, or a super mint track car. Not to say I'll never drive it in traffic, but it'll be very rare that I will. If people who buy FDs have no idea what to do with them, so be it. The car will no longer be running, then people who complain have nothing to complain about. People who buy the car because they love the car will be able to keep the car on the road, will you still hate the car because it's RHD? Even though they'll love the car just as much as any LHD FD owner, it must not count for anything because it's RHD?

Sad...See, I actually like TVR's, and think the Sagaris is totally badass.
The main reason I like em is because they are very rare. I like to stand out in the crowd. Which is why I drive an FD.
Has nothing to do with looking down my nose at people, but I just enjoy the looks I get when I am stopped at a light from people crossing the street or standing at the bus-stop.
Also, I think the FD has a timeless design which looks better than many/most cars made these days. And it goes like stink too.
So maybe the fact that FD drivers own a car that when parked in any random mall parking lot is (IMHO), the best looking, most rare and fastest car there has something to do with their confident attitude. I would say its more one of pride than snobbery. Cuz for me, I know there is always someone faster, more rare or better looking out there...
On a side note - There used to be a TVR dealer here in Toronto at Lawrence and Warden (or somewhere around there). Does that mean that TVR's are legal to import into Canada prior to them being 15 years old? Cuz I remember going to the showroom and seeing a brand new Griffith. Or has TVR completely pulled out of Canada and only models originally sold here are available to import?
