ON RHD Fc rx7 questions

first off i am interested in getting a RHD FC rx7 this summer, figured for a little more for the same condition as a LHD rx7 i can get one i would really like.

first question, is there a place i can search for FC rx7s for sale ? i looked on a few websites and i only see vert ones and FD's.

second where would i find the costs of registering it here in canada and what other info would i need to know.

third is insurance more expensive on a RHD car vs LHD ? and where can i get a quote for insurance on a FC since most online insurance companies only go to 1995.

here's one for sale: http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/ctd/2141518404.html

It's been up since I got my car, so it's been sitting for over 6 months.

I would contact a company that specializes in importing vehicles from Japan. they can get you the vehicle that best meets your requirements. although, if you look at the price one might wonder why you wouldn't opt out for an FD.

If you do a google search, you should find a few places that offer these services.

check with your insurance whether they are willing to insure RHD. I am with belair and i dont think they permit RHD vehicles.

My personal opinion: Unless you're getting a great deal on a RHD one... don't.

If you buy a LHD one, at least you can track down the history on the car and get a better feel for it. If you import one, you have no idea who's owned it and whether it's been in an accident.

As for insurance, my best advice, don't go getting online quotes. They're worthless. I'm an insurance broker and the worst part of my day is when someone calls me and says they did a quote online and they want the insurance. I get to spend the next half an hour explaining to them that they entered all the information in incorrectly and they don't qualify for that company, or the company the online quoter suggested doesn't even sell auto insurance.

If you're looking for quotes, find a broker, call them, talk to them.

There is no cost difference in insurance between an LHD and RHD vehicle provided that the LHD model was originally sold in the country (which RX7's obviously were). However, MANY insurance companies have a filed rule that states they don't write insurance on RHD cars. This will exclude you from many markets.

Don't forget the antics of driving one as well, with left hand turns and such
