Well hate to say it but you gonna have to pay an arm and a leg to usually get work done on anything Rotary in this city, but the best palce by far is Mazda, the guy there who is the ROtary tech is my best friends uncle so i get a pretty decent deal and he did alot of work to my 87 GXL, so in my opinion go with Mazda, you get quality work.

I agree we do need to get a regina event underway here. I am in the Process of buying a Red 92 Fd and it should be here in the next few weeks. we definatly need to get a group of the regina guys together and try to get a monthly get together or something cause im completly sick with all these retarded Intergras and Civics cloggin up the road with there crap. we need to show these boys how true engines and cars are made. anyone with me on this?

Just a lead for you, but if you call Europasian out in Cupar and talk to the guy (I believe it is a guy and his wife...I've bought lots of Rx7 parts off of him), I know that a guy he knows (probably another wrecker) just got a T2 with a blown engine that he was going to try and get me some parts off of (however, it seems that the guy didn't want to part it out). The guy who owns the car may be looking sell it without parting it out. Just something you may want to check out.
As for Regina meets, I would love to get together. My driveshaft got shipped today, should get here next week, and I will finally have my baby on the road. I will then just have to either frontmount the stock IC or find a turbo hood. Anyone wanting to trade a turbo hood for an aluminum N/A and cash?

Hey guys, just letting you know that I'm looking really hard to find another first gen RX7 to buy here. I'm trying to find it a little closer to moose jaw, but I'll go to alberta or manitoba if I have to.
If you guys know of any first gens in decent shape, with a solid chassis and most of their peices, let me know. Extensive repair aint my thing with this round.

I don't think there are any dedicated Rx7 tuners in Regina (not that I've heard of in the last 5 years), but if you want someone who knows cars, how to build them, and how to tune them, then talk to Cam at CWS Tuning. He's mostly a VW nut, but I know he tuned my buddy's T2 a while back (getting close to 5 years).
I am not sure if he wants to try another one because that one caught fire and burned to the ground. In the end it was just the pulsation dampener. He had no idea though because he doesn't have a sense of smell. He had no idea anything was wrong until a 6 foot flame shot out the passenger side fender wall .
Anyway, you could give Cam a shot. Apparently VW of America calls him to come work on their cars for shows and what not so I think he knows what he's doing. (Don't quote me on that, but another friend who worked at a shop next door told me this).
BTW, Kenn, do you still need a fuel pump?

Cam was the one who put in Kevin's motor in his Veilside FD (the purple one, you might have seen it). They don't like our cars, I've heard them bitch about it personally, so care and attention might be lacking. Not saying they're bad business by any means, but I just personally wouldn't take my car to someone who doesn't want to work on it.
Also, on a side note, if any of you guys like to shop for car audio at Visions, let me know..I have hookups .

WOW glad i found this site. im in regina, NW end sort of, I have had my 88 red N/A rebuilt from rx7 specialties in calgary with a street port, then i bought a 600cfm holley carb, msd ignition, polished intake manifold, header, exhaust, thats the motor, now has 10,000 on new engine. she had a paint job from provincial AB 2 years ago, 17'' KT alloy 5 spoke rims, lowered, race springs/suspension, it accually is stiffer then my 3rd gen. which brings me to my next point. my third gen i JUST bought. $15000 all said and done, thats going to get it, pst, gst, etc... i havent even got plates on her but ive been driving with day permits lately, if ur a driver and ur in regina u've probably seen my red rx7, you may have seen me in the third gen. its a RHD, midnight black, 17'' white peril 5 spoke rims, veilside invader front nose, soon to be a different one. now if i can figure out how to put pictures up i will. its not on the internet just my hard drive so i m not sure how to do it. anyways you guys meet in regina ill be there, just gimme the where and when... id bring the FC and FD if i could. anyways thought i'd say hi, i was trying to start a club in town but was seriously lacking method of finding fellow rotar heads anyways i live and die by the 7 good to hear from you guys.

I think I might hold you to that hookup. I'm undecided whether I want a DVD screen or just a really good CD/MP3 player.
Maybe I should start posting pics of my FD. I've had it for a while now anyway... but I'm too lazy to repost them up, so linky linky

Hrm. Well, if the case of DVD screens lucky, If I remember correctly you can have them installed for you, in which case they attach them to the parking break or shifter some how so they only operate when in nuetral or in park. Some sort of ground if I remember correctly, thats what my friend said when he had one bought for his cougar.
Instead, he did it himself and found a different ground so it played while driving. Apparently, thats illegal and I'm cool with that.. He ended up destroying his cougar via deer. Coincidence? He claims not...
What I want to do, just for kicks, is to install 2 small LCD screens at either side of the car, driver and passenger. Remove the mirrors and install tiny little cameras instead. Why? I read an artical on solar powered cars and they stated that the drag created by the mirrors was intense on a cars aerodynamics. Not that I'm looking for more speed or fuel, lol. It'd for me just be something different!

15000 all said and done for a JDM FD... that's a lot.. who did you go through?

To clarify the LCD screen thing, yes it is illegal to have a screen playing content in the drivers vision while he is driving.
Now, that that is said, there are two ways to get around it. First is that you can put your e-brake on one notch so the light comes on and grounds the wire. The second way is that you can ground you e-brake. However, you will want to put a switch in the middle because most DVD screens require that you put your ebrake on-off-on so you can't just ground the wire. Also, Alpine is a bit more tricky as you have to hold down the brake pedal while doing an on-off-on with the ebrake. This can be bypassed with a regular switch and a pressure switch. However, if you do this, it will be illegal and I am in no way responsible . Also, please do not mention to anyone at Visions or anywhere that I told you so. I don't work there anymore, but am still on payroll in case I ever need to comeback or work special days (like Boxing day where I worked in order to get a TV for a few hundred dollars below cost ). However, I have a good friend in Car Audio that would be happy to give you guys a break.
Also, if you have the bit of extra cash, remember that DVD's sound quality can be much higher and can hold a lot more songs...although searching through a 1000 songs on a disc can be a real PITA. If you guys have questions about electronics, especially Car Audio, just ask. As I don't work there anymore, I will tell you what you should actually buy, not what is going to make me money .
