I was thinking of going with a water to air intercooler. I think for what I want to do it will work perfectly.

 

Your not going to break even one on a twin setup.

I try stuff that not many people really do. I'd like to give it a go and see how it does. Its considerably cheaper than a FMIC. And the space savings.

 

It also weighs more which negates the space savings :P. Unless your drag racing, there is no benefits (only negatives) to a water to air intercooler setup.

I found a couple engines Things are lookin up. Going to start getting ready to part out my TII stuff.

 

Thoughts on Iginition? A 6 channel ignitor (HKS Twin Power) with stock coils? Or a coil on plug with ignitors built in?

 

How much are you looking to get for your turbo stuff? Hows compression on the engine? And whats on the list of stuff you'll be getting rid of?

 

Not sure how much I want for everything. Ill be getting rid of pretty much everything under the hood. Complete engine, harness and ecu as well as all the little sensors. As well as my complete rev 2 racing beat exhaust. The engine was rebuilt last year by me and another club member. We used some used parts we had. Engine runs excellent.

I also have a couple PFC F-cons, one of which is currently on the car and some other stuff.

But nothing is for sure until I get the 20B on my garage floor.

 

Yah, acquiring the motor is pretty much the start of it all.

Indeed. I'm looking to meet with a builder to possibly buy his personal built 20B, but I don't think I'll be able to see him until november. I'm an oilfield mechanic and I don't get a whole lot of spare time to travel around the province for visits.

 

Didn't see this. AEM smart coils are the best option out there right now for the price.

Understandable, I'm in no hurry right now but definitely looking to do a turbo swap when/if my toyota sells. So if the price/compression is right I'd be down for taking the whole lot when the time comes. Just something to keep in mind. Can't say I've read up much about the smart coils but personally I'd avoid them only because they're aem.

 

AEM doesn't make them, they're rebadged mercury marine coils. They're the hottest **** for the money right now. Stronger then a lot CDI ignition boxes with longer spark duration. They're just awesome, period.

Just an update. I decided to do it right and do a full rebuild on the engine when I pick it up. I'm looking to pick up the engine after xmas now as work is slowing down a little. I'm looking to run the 2 rotor over the summer next year so I can get some miles on the car and enjoy it. I will be rebuilding the 2 rotor again (for some port work and bearings) and throwing on a 60-1 hybrid turbo and a standalone and essentially teaching myself the basics of tuning with the newer ems's as I learned on a wolf 3d v3. I also have to finish my suspension and chassis upgrades before I drop the 20b in. So instead of doing the 20b first, I'll do it last. I'll start a new build thread when parts start rollin in, and parts start flyin off the car. Going to do a lot of custom fab I think and I got my intercooler kit in the mail
