I paid 700 for a dynomax catback that isn't all SS. RB is all SS and its nice and shiney. I got quoted at 1100 parts only from mazdees last year. To be honest 700 is already way beyond pushing it for me.

why cant you install it yourself? Basicly you need two people, a bunch of wrenchs and some elbow grease. Saves a fair chunk of money, you get to know your car better. Its a win-win situation

I can RE+RE my exhaust in 45mins by myself on jackstands.
But then again, I've dropped it at least 20 times already.

6 bolts for the y-pipe and the cat back comes off.
The most difficult task is probably the exhaust donuts.
I recommand new ones so the new system will hang right.

Also, user generous amounts of gasket maker on top of the gaskets and let it cure properly.

true that, deffinitely the hard part is getting the exhaust off those damn hangers. Took me about 1/2 hour the take it off, another 1/2 to put it on the first time I did it. Simple, but takes some working

pm 13BTOY

he has a racing beat streetport exhaust for sale for $500 cdn.

he used to have a 2 headers, so it could be used for 13b or 12a, but
i am taking the 12a header, so this is for 13b, or you could get your own header
andprobably get a deal.

Hangers are easy - just unbolt them from the frame (2 bolts) with the
donut attached.

Exhaust

I purchased the Racing beat full system for the Turbo II, downpipe to exhaust tips. I got it from Peninsula Imports in Oakville (they are a new Racing Beat Dealer) and paid about 1200.00 CDN. Not bad considering the system is 790.00 US on RB's website.

I attempted to remove the system myself from my nieghbors garage. He has the gararge dug out to work on cars (a grease pit). We attempted removing the first Cat from the Turbo outlet and even added heat but couldn't get anything to budge.

I ended up taking the car to the Mazda dealership in Burlington. It was supposed to be a 2 hr job - not bad. But I got the phone call explaining that there was more labour involved removing the air pump assembly. It turned out to be a 5 hr job, but they moved the labor rate down to 65 an hour. They did a fine job but I ended up paying more for the labor than i had inteded.

I paid over 1500 to get this system installed- but this is the full system for a Turbo II.

I am pleased with the results - RB claims a 59hp increase

I dont know if its 59hp- but this is the biggest change I have ever felt from adding an exhaust system to a car

The dealer took out the air pump?! Isn't it illegal for them to remove emmissions stuff?
