That's one of the worst looking of the enthusiast-rendered rx-9's that I've seen so far.
And I don't think Mazda is a company to ditch standard transmissions anytime soon - unless their advertising focus shifts away from their cars being fun to drive.
I recently laughed at a 2011 bmw 3-series driver when I asked if it was manual and he said "paddles." Then he smoked me from a light lol.

A little off topic, but following the manual transmission tangent...

A stick is mandatory in all my cars - even my DD wagon. Which really cuts down on my choices anymore.

As for the RX-9(?) sketch - hopefully not. The current 3/5 are bad enough with the overwrought styling. Clean, simple, and sleek. Works on the all three generations of RX7, can work again.

nice, finally a reason for not liking it beyond "it sucks"

i liked it because i can see a progression of the lines from the previous 3 generations with a lil imagination, and struck me as a step in the right direction at least. i agree its too busy, an i hardly expected anyone to share my opinion, but if ur gonna offer one at least give it some substance :P
