Occ Prep
OCC (Ontario Challenge Cup not Orange County Choppers) prep is very much the same as 23Racer CCTCC. We dont have very much work to do on the car itself for this year as we keep on top of maintenance during the season. The changes we are making for this year are a quicker ratio steering rack, braided clutch line and new fuel cell foam. We will bleed the brakes just before we go out to the track, but the brakes and tranny/rear gear oils have already been changed. The brakes were refreshed at the end of last year so nothing is needed there. We should change the fuel cell foam every couple of years so this is the year (spent over $175.00 on the stupid foam!) The big change is a peripheral port 13B. This is a whole new engine from the housings to the eccentric shaft. The only 2 pieces being switched from the old engine is the Weber 51 IDA carb amd the racing header. The engine will be assembled over the next few day by Mark at NewMazMark auto in Scarb. Details of the engine are on my website www.abrracing.com. Mazda Canada was very supportive this year and thats why we are able to build this new engine! Many thanks go out to them and we will let them use the car in whatever way they wish to for the upcoming months.
