Also, if you're having flooding problems, when you start the car, floor the gas pedal while you turn the key.
She has an s4 NA - this won't work. That cut-off method wasn't introduced until the s5.



As for the "water trick," I'm not suggesting that it's completley invalid, but I've never heard of anyone solving any problems with it, so if I were you I'd focus my efforts elsewhere.
I think that it's a more a case of no one having tried it rather than no one having succeeded with in.

Agreed that a cut-off switch is better if the plan is to live with a flooding problem long term. I've only ever unflooded an engine by removing the green fuse. Doesn't the yellow one cut spark? In Landers' ATF example he's removing the spark plugs, it make sense that you wouldn't to get shocked.

Flooring it does help, I drove daily with a blown engine for 3 months, I know what I'm talking about.

any check engine light?

any vacuum leaks? i.e. intake tube. I've seen 2nd gens this old to have minor cracks along the belows. Air flow meter working?

atf fluid is great for piston motor seals i learned that at a goodyear garage i worked at for 3 years as far as dumping it in a rotor motor i'd be weary good for old pistoin motors though
