So.......... has anyone tried out buying or bidding things on the new RHD bid website? It's alot cheaper, since we are buying it directly from Japan. I read the rules, we kinna have to pre-pay first, if we lost the bidding, then full refund is back to us or something........ Anyone tried it before? Reliable? Suggestions?

That site is unbearable! It takes forever to load the page, I can not understand the adds they post even with the translator on, the pictures are horrible, and its obviously risky.

I've ordered off BIDJDM a few times. They've changed over to PayPal subscriptions -- you won't need to make a deposit to bid on an item, but your PayPal will be charged when you win. Don't go bid crazy unless you mean it.
They'll hold items 5 days for free, then you'll pay storage for 5 additional days, then pay again for a final 5 days, for a max of 15 days storage. Storage varies based on the item. I've held out to day 15 before shipping them to the US to make one big package.
Shipping was reasonable. Largest package I won was a set of sway bars -- shipping and handling was $250.
Navigating the auctions takes some getting used to. I mainly use BIDJDM to get in the right category, move to YJA for more searching, then copy the auction back into BIDJDM for more bidding.
Overall, a painful experience for the wallet, but I got my JDM goodness!

Sample price breakdown of prices in Japanese yen.
Final bid price: $119,999 yen
Final bid fee (20%): $23,999 yen
Handling fee: $2,370 yen
Air shipping to customer's door: $26,363 yen
Total $172,731 yen or $1,877 USD
What is the 20% bid fee though? And when you bought your sway bars, did Canadian Custom Department charge you import tax or sth? (Usually have to pay it when picking up the parcel at Canada Post or sth)
What is the 5 days holding fee? I am confuse. They hold your item for 5 days for free. So that means I have to make all the final payment within first 5 days, then they won't charge us extra, is that what you mean?
