new member ...and need some help
Hey guys, first time around here, I bought a 3rd generation rx-7 recently and start thinking about a serious project of it ^_^v.
i am kinda new in toronto...muuuuuu.... where do u guys usually get parts from? or import from US? and for those little things such as a set of efini emblem, carpet..etc...it seems like they are available on ebay, but with limited varieties.
i really appreciate if someone can throw me a couple of local contacts of good part suppliers/body shop/talented mechanics for FD3S.

Well, there isnt much that i know of personally in toronto. Usually the best place is forums and ebay. Most good stores are in the US. I mean if your looking for parts themselves (not like the badges and stuff) the Mazda Dealer is always a good start. Sometimes you can cross reference parts.
-JRP is good for aftermarket (gauges, turbos, the like) they are in mississauga
-UAP/NAPA is always a place for odds and ends (brake calipers rebuilt, etc)
-Mazda Dealerships (airport mazda offers a discount, and i think Scarboro does too)
-Ebay (usually US tho)
-As a note part jobbers can also help you they are all over the place (check the yellow pages out for that, just search it under automotive and you should get a ton).
-As for mechanics: RPM Performance (Joe), Mazdees (Dave) are the 2 that i would trust. OR hook up with some members on the forum here and they can help you out. Alot of us here have done work ourselves, or have seen mechanics do it and can help you or tell you bout our experiences, or just search the forum!
-As just a thought, if you just bought the FD, before going with the efini badges and all that. Get the car up to par (fluids, tune up, mechanically sound) then work on the cosmetics. FDs are money eaters, worse then FC's (my FC has already taken my left ********!).
Anything else, just post...tons here to help ya, just watch out, some ppl are heavy jokers or just asses

If/when importing parts from the US (or elsewhere) do not use UPS for shipping unless you enjoying throwing away your money. I and many others here have been gouged by those turkeys at the border, where they turn over your paperwork to some third-party weasel who rubber stamps everything and bills you $30+ for it.
USPS for the win.
Stay away from CP Racing.
If I were in your shoes, I would stick with Mazdees and go through the 3rd Gen section here with a fine-tooth comb. I wouldn't let anyone else work on it.
Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

Hey Amur
BTW.. i foundout for UPS (when i called and bitched about their bullshit fees).. that IF you ship by UPS Air YOU DO NOT GET CHARGED BROKERAGE!. I was like WTF i tried it, and well.. no brokerage, however it is a tad more expensive then regular ground shipping.

lol.. nah they didnt ding me directly, it was the extra cost for the air shipment. however, its faster, and i know all the charges ahead of time. I ordered some stuff from a US parts distributor.
