Today was AWESOME! personal best 1:10.15

Had some fairly bad ignition breakup, car was running way too rich with my restrictive catback (steve kan tuned it without the catback because it was robbing too much power) combined with my water injection kit.

Will try to find a more free flowing catback for the next one, should hopefully solve the ignition problems and add a few ponies at the same time

And my oil catch can didn't quite work the way it was supposed to :P

It was fun following jimmy's dual flamethrowers

Good time. Almost a second faster then my best time. Gonna have to look at a race seat. No idea on what to get and if its a good idea to have a 4 point harness in a car with a roll bar etc...

I'm waiting for my autopower roll bar to come in so that I can install my 6 point harness, but for the time being I'm just running my OMP seat with a 3 point harness (aka stock seat belt)

Ok Round #2. Who's in? Any other FC's want to join me out there? Felt lonely out there being the only FC. Lots of rotaries though.

My comments on this event,

Worth every penny just like the clubonetwo nine group. Tons of track time. You can go out and play to your hearts content, (Test/Tune) enjoy a few laps with a friend or two and dive right into the competition in the evening. (I think I did about 140-150km on the track. But will have to check my odometer.)

The live leader board was a nice touch. It was updated when you exit the track and you can see where you stand in line with the rest of the guys. Just make you want to go that much faster Interested to see if there will be any other track opportunities in the future.....

SO round #2 June 26 at the DDT
1) IAN 1989 Turbo II
2)?
3)?

can't wait to try it out with a new catback and hopefully a properly venting catch can haha. All the oil spraying out of my dipstick left quite a mess

FOR SURE I'm taking my car out this time! Although I can't compete because I'm one of the organizers, but I'll try to play around in T&T.

JDK, are you coming out for sure? If so, I'll mark your name down and register in our timing software. Am I going to witness a battle between MIBAgentQ, JDK and thewird on June 26??

And, where are the FC's guys? Ian is like a lone wolf out there.... Are most FC guys not into this kind of stuff?

Can't wait to see the action!

Hey Ian,

Just saw this post, a little late, sorry....

Thank you so much for the kind words Ian. We had about 40~41 cars out that day, which was the most we've ever had. We were initially a little concerned about congestion at the track, but luckily, everyone said it was just fine and perfect. I think capping it off at 45 on DDT is just about right.

Well, there was the exception of a couple of racers who said it was more congested than they'd like it to be. So there we were trying to figure out what's going on.... Then it hit us. Most of you guys are in the top 25th, if not top 10th percentile of the group in terms of lap times.

This means, when you're all hit 1:10's or under, well, you'll just about catch up to everyone on the track, veeeery quickly. I guess for the top dogs, they require track sessions with no more than 6 or 7 cars on the track at any given time, otherwise they won't be able to get a lot of clean runs.

I guess that's the price to pay for being fast.... Everybody is in your way lol...

Thanks so much again Ian, and so glad to see your FC representing. So clean, sexy and fast!

Get ready for 45 timers boys!

The last time I tracked my FC, I payed for a full day but spent 2/3 of the day fixing a fuel leak at the tank and waiting for the silicone to dry....

I've got my miata working. If I have the bugs sorted out I'm coming to the next one. I should though. The little piece of crap is a BLAST to drive.

100% in.
Probably taking the miata (need tires), or I might tow the stratus up. (its faster, but less fun)

IAN, is that offer for a place to stay overnight still open?

If it is, is there room for my tow rig (either there, or nearby?) I'll just drive up if I take the miata but I'd have to tow if I take the stratus.

NICE Terrh! For some reason we've only had 2 Miatas come out, EVER. So weird....

Thanks for the PM Terrh. I figure I'll answer your question here, since others may be wondering the same thing.

SRTA members like to promote team spirit in motorsports racing, even if it's at the grassroots level, because we believe it's the heart and soul of this sport. At SRTA, we ALWAYS go by cars, not drivers. Feel free to bring your friends/teammates along and share your car, for the entire day, completely free of charge. However, there may only be 1 entry per vehicle during the OTA, so hopefully you can take advantage of our T&T and find the fastest driver.

Btw, what car do you drive now? Seeing that you're parting out your VR FD, I assume you must have another car ready to roll?

Oh, and it looks like our June 26th is quickly turning into a sold out event. We still have 2 weeks to go but only have 11 spots available. Just an FYI.

Hey Howi, thanks for the kind words. It is always nice to hear good feedback from event organizers. Im excited for the upcoming event.

I have another FD, this will actually be the first time she'll be out. So itll be more of a shake down for her. So im still getting used to her. Any help/feedback from you seasoned track rats would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to meeting you guys soon!
