I bought mine through www.japaneseusedcars.com. They don't do all of he importing work for you. They just handle everything on the Japan side of things. They also don't have much of a stock selection. They do most of their deals by bidding on cars for the customers. So I just watched the auctions daily and found the right car that I wanted to bid on. They then do a quick inspection on the car for you and if it seems to be good they bid on it up to whatever price you give them.

Here is a bunch of sites that you can check out:
www.importconcern.ca
www.jdmconnection.com
www.redlineimports.ca
www.hasnihone.com
www.best-trade-auctions.com

I dont have any crazy plans for it yet, its going to be my daily driver so its going to stay street / show so i will get some side skirts for it and put my black 18's on it. I pretty happy with the power it has for now, Ive got a pretty heavily built skyline thats gutted and all raced out for tracking so I dont have to go to crazy on the RX7 just yet.....but its just a matter of time lol

My new car is a 92 JDM FD and is in the middle of the pacific at the moment.....Im dying to take it for a rip already. my buddy in Japan hooked me up with this rare yellow one.... 49K on it , Tien coils, Kakimoto exh, Blitz int, and wed sports light weight 17's.

Ever since I sold my N/A 90 I new I had to get another one... rotory motors are way to much fun to drive

Ill post more pics when i pick it up..... cheers
Consider yourself lucky you got that car. LoL I almost bought it back in December but decided on my TVR 390SE instead.

I'd love to race you at a light one day.... to compare the car I bought with the one I almost bought.

nice TVR what does it have under the hood, inline 6 ?,I love old brit cars but you have to spend alot of time fixing them , my old 67 triumph GT6 broke at least once a week lol but I still loved it. ya both cars would be fun to line up together it would be an interesting race.

I still waiting for my shop to get the VIN thing sorted out , they had to sign up for the online inspection BS service .... but the cars all compliant and good to go as soon as the VIN tag shows up, when I finally get it back I will get some new pics up... and hopefully it will not be pooring rain as usual

cheers ... M-SPEC

M-Spec,

Did you get your car deliverd to you, or did you pick it up in Vancouver? If you got it in Vancouver did you have any problems with the car the day you picked it up? I was told that I should almost bring a air pump and a battery to boost my car when I go to get it. Also that I should go to the first gas station and make sure I top everything up. I was planning on checking the oil, coolant and whatnot before I even start the car, but did you have any other problems with your car that I should be prepared for?

I live 40 min away from the port so I just picked it up myself.

I would suggest to bring a can of 94oct gas and then top it up at the first gas station you find, most cars will be very close to empty

the tires are usally full (with roro) so thats not to big of a deal

batterys are usally very weak you should bring a fresh battery or at least some jumper cables.

also you should bring some thing like goo be gone or simple green with some rags or a razor to wipe all the stickers and writing of the windshield

bring some basic tools with you too just incase

other than that you should be fine, of course check all the fluid levels

I have a appointment setup at staffs auto for the same day that my car gets here. So I will be bringing the car there for a quick inspection before I drive the car home. I'm hoping that this makes things better for me. My biggest problem is that I am going to be flying into Vancouver and taking a cab from there to the port to get my car. Due to this it is going to be hard to get everything organized before getting my car. I'm hoping that I can get the cabby to stop by a Canadian tire on the way there to get some booster cables and whatever else I need. Do you happen to know how closet he nearest gas station is from the ports?

It's got the modified Rover V8 TVR used for years. Claimed HP is 275, claimed torue is 270. Quite impressive performance considering the car only weighs 2441 lbs.

It's on the boat right now. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Football22, there is a gas station close to the ports, my bro made the mission so Im not sure where it is but it was very close, I would suggest to just to bring a bag with you from Alberta with the jumper cables and a few other things I mentioned with you. you still have my number? I live 5 min away from staffs I should come down and have a gander at your new ride.

Ctrl, nice a V8 that should do the job, I would love to see some pics of it when it gets here

cheers

MSPEC. I don't think I have your number anymore. Send me a pm with it. I will definatly give you a call when I am in Van. Theres going to be me and another forum member hopefully getting our cars at the same time and driving them back to Alberta together. How long of a drive would you say it is to go from the port to Staffs?

cool Ill PM you, from the port there is 2 ways of going to staffs

1, is you go back through richmond, through vancouver and then over the lions gate bridge and into north vancouver approx 40-80 min depending on trafic

2, you go from the port to new west minister, go through new west, get on hwy 1 west bound on go over the second narrows bridge into north vancouver 40-60min
*** I would probably go this way ,should be less traffic depending on what time you go***

CTRL...nice pics and good buy, looks like a well cared for car with a nice interior, some white 17"s or 18"s on it would look sooo nice, you will like the soft top in the summer, instead of lining up with my RX7, I should bring my other car

Lining up with the kraut rocket defeats the purpose of checking out the car I almost bought though.

If you're ever in Calgary with it give me a PM. I plan on going to Chilliwack this summer in the TVR. You're in BC? Where?

I have a friend that buys and sell a few jdm cars every year. He is set up quite well. He has a friend stationed there in the military who finds the car and arranges a thorough inspection so he gets good units every time.

As far as I know and have been able to tell from pictures of "woodwork", (a North American TVR meet) and also the TVR club of NA, there's two other cars in Canada nicknamed as "wedges". There's a 350i and a Tasmin 280. One's in Winnipeg and the other in Toronto. Neither are as new as mine. Both were made in larger numbers.

Thanks for the link.

[edit]

As long as I can get the time off work, I'll put my car in that show.

The only thing you'll find uncomfortable when I take you for a ride in it is your face, from having your skin stretched backwards.
