I think there are 4 or 5 FD's in the peg. not positive though. Glad to hear some good turnout. The more people that come out, the more fun we will have. We are looking at having the event possibly sponsored, so the food cost might be waived, dont quote me on that yet though. still in the works.

My car is a 94 montego blue. The only performance mod is a pettit downpipe that I will be putting on this spring. I have also done some of the reliability mods as well. Do you have any mods black93RX7?

When its nice enough to bring the cars out I would like to see yours, I have not met any other Fd owners besides calvin and another guy w/ a black one, but both are not on the road.

I would like to see your car as well; I didn't realize there was anyone in town with a single in an FD. I would also like to see Mike's (the_saint) car, he mentioned that he is going single next summer.

Thought you might appreciate some constructive feedback here, especially if you're going to copy and paste this into your new club's charter or something, and since you don't seem to be getting the enthusiasm you were hoping for.
Accountability is synonymous with responsibility, so although it's a nice frequently used buzzword that everyone tries to use nowadays, it's not the word you're looking for... The word you're probably looking for is commitment.
So if I understand correctly, the only piston powered car not allowed is a 7? Is there a particular and good reason for this? When you're starting a club, ideally, you'd want to be as inclusive as possible. If other piston powered cars are allowed, then the club is obviously not all about the rotary engine...
I'm sorry, but rule is kind of and taking it too far. You can't tell someone where they can and cannot park, and where they can and cannot drive. When it comes to driving in a pack, the most important thing is safety, not where someone is placed in the convoy. This is a club, not the USSR.
Very sensible rule to have.
You're trying here to get commitment, but maybe you should use some reverse psychology since people fear commitment. Mentioning that a commitment is expected will make people less willing to truly commit - as soon as something is a requirement, it's less appealing. Maybe rephrase more in the lines of: we hope that members can attend once a month, but understand it is not always possible bla bla bla. Also, if you pay membership dues, you're a client, not an employee, so you can do what you want when it comes to your attendance - bottom line is that you paid. It's up to the club to cater to the members, not vice versa.
Anyway, an outsider's perspective... If I were in Manitoba and were to read my gut instinct would be to dismiss it.
Northern 7's recommendation is great. If you can't get enough people together without a formal structure forcing rules and expecations upon people, then you're not going to have much better luck with such a structure. Look at what happened in Ottawa... Some people tried to start a club with membership fees etc. and it didn't work... Now, with everything unofficial, it's easy to get enthusiasts together, and the Ottawa crew is probably the most tightly knit and visible group on here.

As well, when parking at an event, rotaries parked in one area, non-rotaries separate.

The club will in no way advocate illegal activities, including street racing, or immature driving practices.

We are planning to have loosely organized events each weekend, with more formal events once a month. Obviously there are circumstances that may be an exception to the mandatory once a month attendance, but it is a priority for the club to have regular attendance by its members. Its your money why not put it to use?

It was drafted to come across as an official document. It was even written by a lwayer. I understand your recomendations though, and about the commitment factor. The dues are to cover memebrship to the Manitoba Association of Auto Clubs, as well as to cover some food costs at events and most likely a sticker and or T shirt, so its not like they dont get something for their money. We will see what turnout is like at the kickoff event. From what people have told me in person they are very enthused. We shall see......

Well I finally got my account setup....
I'm new to the RX-7 ownership rules...
I've got an 88 convertible, with a clutch that doesn't like me much...but this club idea sounds like fun....

Most of the people we've been speaking to think it's a great idea, and this forum is only a *minor* representation of any enthusiasm there is.

Okay, if the rain is gone on saturday, we wil be meeting up at Sport Check on Regent between 3 and 4 pm. From there we will head out as a group to Birds Hill. The fee has been waived for the BBQ, as it is now sponsored.
If the rain is still coming down, we will postpone till next weekend
