Where is a good source for LS1/T56 is Toronto area? I would like to find one with ecu and harness and everything all together. Any ideas?

Hmm stay rotary or go... 2010 CTS-V... I wonder how reliable a 556 horsepower RX7 is? Or how often it can go 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds before it breaks. Or if it will start up on cold mornings... carry passengers... a baby seat...
Each to their own I guess.

D'agostino Motorsports I would also check out, they do alot of work on LS1s-LS2s and up.......not sure if they are still around tho. Check over the v8rx7 forum, there might be some there thats close enough for a drive or a roadtrip....hope this helps....that and i dont get flamed......lol

If you're up for a day trip, go with Cleveland Pick-a-Part. With the low US dollar, it's probably the way to go. Lots of LSXs go through there and they've been doing it for a long time.
That kijiji post looks like it could be worth a follow up too.

I've been looking for about a year, and there aren't too many in this area. Kijiji sometimes has some scores, but people typically know the demand for them and want serious coin.
seems like the best LS deals are to the south; dropouts can go for 3000 at times.
if you're handy and willing to do some work, check out ridesafely.com. If you get a smacked up Fbody with leather, you could pull the drivetrain and recoup a lot of the costs with parting the car.

You can buy T56's brand new in the states for under $2500.
I think that may be the route to go instead of getting a used one for $1500+ that is basically unknown, especially considering how many of them seem to have problems.

If that was true, I'd buy one right now. Please provide a link to these new T56's for under $2500. Shipping costs+++ duty++ taxes++ exchange++ a new T56 will cost lots of $$$

I'm in the same boat, damn T56's are impossible to find for a decent price.. almost making me think to go the cheap/easy (NOT FUN) route and put in a built TH400
then the ones you can find are for LT1's and by the time you swap the input shaft it's no longer a good deal.

I've got a 30K transmissions from an '08 Cadillac CTS-V in my garage in pristine condition I'm looking to sell. I'll have to check the stampings on it but is this the T-56? I know its the same transmission and engine out of the Corvette of the same year.

The problem with the CTS-V tranny is the shifter placement, it's way to far forward for one of these swaps and by the time you by all the parts to change it, it just won't be worth the $$.

click on "dealers"
find the one nearest you.
Liberty Transmission in detroit sells them for $2,445 as well, but I can't find it on their website. Give 'em a call.
No duty on north american made auto parts. Exchange is 7% right now. Taxes depend on who you get at the border and how much you declare it for.

Halfway down shows T56's at $2,595 brand spankin new.
In store paperwork shows them at $2,445 though. I'm sure they'll do that price (or better) if you ask.
