looking for a body shop in the toronto, or greater toronto area.
Hi Everyone!
Long time listener, first time poster. Been a part of the forum for a while now just sticking my head in where it doesn't belong, ever since i picked up a 92 rx7 twin turbo fd, right hand drive.
A friend, sorry, used to be friend of mine, took my car without me saying it was okay, and crashed her into a tree, go figure. He managed to spin her around a a turn, over a curb and into a tree.
He told me he was going to pay for the damages, but that was 2 years ago. so if i ever see him again, all i can think of doing is breaking his legs, although that would get me into trouble becasue he is a cop.
Any who, long store short, i need some body work, and some mechanical work done to the front of my 92 rx7, but i do not know where i can take her.
I recently applied for caa, so getting her somewhere is no longer my issue, its finding where to take her.
Are there any reliable shops in the area? i viewed a few of the old posts but couldn't seem to get a response from any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as i can't wait for the day i put her back on the road, and get to drive her, now that the sun is finally coming out!
Thanks in advance!

I'm not in the GTA area, so I can't help much there, but it sounds from the description of what happened that repairs might exceed the value of the car. Maybe post some pics so members can weigh in a bit on that? A car that's sat two years may have mechanical issues just from prolonged (and possibly improper storage) - stuck seals, flat-spotted bearings, rusted/seized brakes - which may be factors in determining if it's worth repairing at this point. Not to be a downer for you, but best to have a realistic view of what it might take to make it roadworthy, vs. bringing in another JDM or picking one up here.
Beyond that, you can sue your "friend" in small claims court and get a judgment. That will do nothing to collect the judgment, but you can turn it over to a collection agency (or just let them look after everything, including court) and see what they can do - they can ruin his credit, at least. Was there ever a police report filed on the accident?

I wouldn't even care if they exceed the value of the car, because she is my baby and i love her for all that she is.
she has sat in a heated garage, with a cover on her, so i have no doubt in my mind that she will start back up no problem, as she did after the accident i was even able to drive it home lol. ( home being down the street)
I will never sell this car, my mom has told me every day since the day i bought her to sell, but she has potential and i can see it.
Here are some details, i picked her up off a gentleman who had to sell it because his wife wanted him too. the car has never seen rain, and is all original from the inside to the outside. its a 92, but the body is a 93, and its a fd 100%, 261 hp twin turbo, right hand drive imported properly and such to canada, and the best part is, she only has 57 thousand km on her, and thats original!
At the time of the crash, i did not have insurance because like i said, my mother wanted nothing to do with the car, and i was at an age where i couldn't do much, so i cant sue my friend for anything, it would never be proven that it was him and such.
i will take some pictures for you guys to see what i am working with.
