just inherited money give me ideas on cars to look at

Inherited around 9 grand and was wondering if you guys could give me ideas on some rhd or lhd cars i could get interested in for a meet and show and track days.

Ideas

Corolla( my dad used to drive an 86 or 87 can't remember)
Fc turbo( most likely want rhd for this)
Fd( although might be a hit or miss with the money i have)
Pulsar gtir
MrS
Old school beetle

Really want a rhd rear wheel drive car. Can settle for 4wd like the pulsar. Would be a bonus if you can get usdm parts for it if it was available in this market.

z24 Cavalier... the boxy ones, because they are more aerodynamic
chrysler daytona... name speaks for itself, speedy and only turns one way
87 chevy chevette... the last year they were made so obviously the best model
subaru svx... only came in automatic because there was too much torque for a manual gear box
plymouth laser... cuz you could say you own a freakin' laser
I have a much longer list if you need more.

C'mon is this for real? Picking a car based on what other people like? and building a show and track car with 9 grand? either it will go with no show or show with no go.
This is obviously a thread to brag about your inheritance, in which case nobody on this forum cares. Jdmr is looking for new members though.

I'm just looking for ideas not choices to be made. I want your opinions on what is really worth it.

Either way i said a meet and show car( ie. Like car meets where i can bring my car stock and it's a rare sight) not a "lambo doors and neon color lancer)

See how i dont respond in kind to your stupid post since i am actually not showing off.

Yes i looked at that white fd looks nice other than that rear body damage

I also found a rhd fc in montreal for around 4 k canadian

Also a final note to cs13b: we both know our verts could possibly be taken by a chevette lol

Put it away for a down payment on a house would be the smart thing to do.

try going to jdm hamilton meets if you havent......that should give you plenty of idea.
if you get a corolla, you'll be frustrated as parts are limited. trust me.....

FC/FD parts and resources are more accessible than some of the cars you posted. Up to you, maybe dip your pandesal in coffee while your thinking about it. j/k

I rent the half of a house with my girlfriend currently (top floor). I am going to college in september for aviation mechanics but i already have enough to cover that. I just want a fun toy( other than my vert)

I have a nearby importer that has an Fd in montego blue for 10 and a half and thinking of talking him down. Also he has around 5 Gtst skylines for 6500 but i don't think that would suit me well. Either way i am going to test drive both to see what the deal is

And yes i already drove right hand drive before.

If you have the opportunity to purchase a RHD car that is available in LHD. Buy the LHD.

Speaking as a licensed and experienced insurance broker. (No, I will not help you insure your RHD car)

Hmm called right drive in toronto and they don't have any fc's in stock but they can order one to my taste and options, the car will come registered plated and all fees included for 10k and that's for a mint condition one.

Or they said you can save money and get a rougher condition one but we all know rough condition rx7s lol

So now i know what i want, too bad i can't find a rhd convertible turbo

Don't think that all is well after buying an FD, RHD or LHD. Folks here will tell you.

More money down = smaller monthly payments = living more comfortably > garage projects.

Stick that money in RRSP's and then later you can use it for a down payment on a house. You will also get a nice refund next year at tax time!

I agree. I pump my maximum allowable into RRSP's each year. But instead of the government bending me over at tax time, I bend them over. And give it to them dry. If you did this, and I **** you not, for just a few years, you'd be looking at a brand new mercedes and not a rice rocket.

Buy a super mint '85 rx7 GSL-SE, or '77 celica. Something nostalgic. They draw plenty of attention stock.

Man, if I hadf inherited almost $10,000 when I was in my early 20's, I would have spent it like a fool and bought another car as well. Trust me when I tell you that sticking it into an RRSP is by far the sanest and smartest thing you can do. Compound interest on that money will give you huge bucks later on when you are looking to retire.

If I had been smart enough to put money into an RRSP when I was young, I wouldn't be dumping $15,000 a year into mine now, so I have enough to retire on and live a normal life after I stop working. The years go by soooooooo fast and all of a sudden you go WTF, how did I get here, LOL.
