Jeff Winter's passing (winter39)
Sadly, a PM was sent to me stating that Jeff has passed away. I thought that the whole community should know about this b'c you may have known Jeff personally (as I did) or have known him Indirectly.
I was conversing with Jeff no less than two weeks ago about some Racing Beat bars I picked up recently...and b'c of him I decided to purchase their Sway Bar Links.
We had a good relationship for the time I knew him and I found him to be a stand up guy. Curious, reserved and most of all approachable.
We need to be reminded that there Is nothing morbid about honestly confronting the fact of life's end, and preparing for It so that we may go gracefully and peacefully...The fact Is, we cannot truly face life until we have learned to face the fact that It will be taken away from us.

Gentlemen,
My name is Gord Attridge, a close friend of Jeff Winter. Jeff's wife, Kathy, gave me Jeff's login info for this site and asked me to pass along to you the sad news of Jeff's tragic death.
Jeff passed away on January 4th and Kathy wanted to try to contact members of the RX7 club that may have spent time with him and would like to know the details of his rememberance. I have never used a site like this before and would ask that you pass this message along to as many others from this community that you feel should be included. I know that Jeff was passionate about his car and truly enjoyed the fellowship and spirit of cooperation that was demonstrated by his friends in the RX7 club.
Kathy's message to Jeff's friends is as follows....
Thanks to all who have come forward with their thoughts, prayers and love. Jeff was taken from us quickly and very peacefully at home on Jan 4th. Although I will not go into all the details of his journey over the past 3 years, he had a very accelerated path of healing. Even though it took us all by surprise, including Jeff...I am fortunate that my shamanic studies have allowed me to be in a place to have intimate contact with him even now. He has assured me and others that this was his time. His mother’s energy was felt very strongly on the night of his death.....she was definitely here to guide him on. Although there are NO words to describe my personal loss....he was an amazing husband, father, friend, employee etc....We are all comforted by his many appearances since, his level of peace and complete acceptance of where he is now.
Man, many people came into contact with Jeff. They all said that he touched their lives even if they only knew him for a short time.
We had a wonderful Christmas holiday, and saw all of our families. We had special time with all of them.
Jeff has given Riley a gift with his presence. He had a very powerful dream the night after his passing that will stay with him forever. Katana also has had several dreams with and about Jeff.
He will continue to support us, and appear to us. I am grateful for his love from the other side.
I am also grateful to any who want to offer any type of support. My sister's cell number is 416-576-3303. We are having a celebration of his life at Barthel Funeral home on 566 Queenston Rd in Cambridge. (519-653-3251). Visitation will be Thurs 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be at 1pm on Friday. We will have as many back to our house after the service as we can fit. Jeff really wanted people to come to celebrate his 37 years with us, and his passing into the next life.
There are contact's at Barthel who can guide out of towners to discounted hotel rates and travel information. For those who wish to make donations, you can contact the funeral home or visit the website at www.mem.com. This is Jeff’s personal website. Anyone can go and enter pictures, movies or stories. I am encouraging as many to do that as possible. That site will keep our memories of Jeff alive in our hearts.
Again, I thank everyone for their love and support.
Sincerely
Kathy Winter

I sold Jeff some parts for his 10th anniversary Rx7. Unfortunately I did not meet Jeff as he was not well the day I attended at his residence. But I did meet his young son, I wish him and the rest of the family my deepest condolences at this difficult time.

I just read my PM's as I was waiting a response back from Jeff and heard of the unfortunate news . There are a few of us in the KW area who were lucky enough to have met Jeff. He would show up once in a while to our meeting spots in KW prior to some events but usually could not find the time to go to the event because he had family that he wanted to spend time with. He always had an eagerness to help others out especially when it came to any welding projects. My condolences to his friends and family. RIP

For the couple times I met Jeff and few times I talked with him over PM's I can honestly say Jeff was a genuine person and always offered to help. Rest in peace Jeff, and may you and god watch over your family to protect and guide them.
