Well I can't take all the credit, Eric designed and made up the manifold. I just had it welded for him. And I like....very much

Thumbs up Super Duper SetUp

WOW nice setup. I wonder whose motor they will be going on? I bet that they will flow like mad and let that person realize the full potential of his RPM built motor on a certain race car this year. LOL!!!

I will be over later today to pick them up.

Thanks Joe.

Talking

Sorry Shane, THEY ARE MINE HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Seriously though, I test fit the manifold last night and it looks great. Everything fits very well and the effective runner length was 8" from throttle plates to port opening, just like Rohan suggested to have the torque peak at 8500 rpm (crossing my fingers). Going to spend some time today with the grinder to clean up the welds inside and outside.

I just need to move my remote filter setup, make up some throttle linkage mounts and an airbox. Dave and I can't wait to hear it run with the bodies and the new exhaust.

They are 'busa 50mm bodies.

Eric

I wouldn't grind it, a file is much better, no airborne aluminum dust, unless of course you want to not remember how to drive your car.

Looks pretty damn nice how ever.

Thumbs up

I appreciate the advice,"I wouldn't grind it, a file is much better, no airborne aluminum dust, unless of course you want to not remember how to drive your car.

Great advice. I wish I was smarter 20 years ago.

I always use a filter mask when I grind into aluminum now. I hardly have any hearing left from listening to way to many unmuffled motors, so I always use ear plugs now. I almost always wear sunglasses outside now to protect my eyes from harmful U.V. rays.

Small things I know, but if I had done these things back when I was a kid, I wouldn't have these issues now.

really glad someone did this. Got the same plan in my head; but down-draught, Looking for an 18" runner length from rotor to velocity stack.

...by the way; where'd you get the keen velocity stacks? GSXR TB's yea?

Just received my TB's late last week. Stall in funds as I bought a $900 Sparco Seat too though lol Ordered enough -6 and -10 braided line to do the entire car.

Actually, you'll probably be still figuring out mapping, timing and **** while I finish my break in of my weber set-up using the cheap fuel.

Talking Were Getting Close!!!

Liquid Anarchy, I got the velocity stacks from a bike company in New Jersey that specializes in Hayabusa performance. The name is (if I recall correctly) Orient Performance.

Just an update on the system in the car, everything fit perfectly. The length gave me enough room to fit an airbox and I was able to get nuts or allen head bolts on all of the proper mounting holes. The fuel lines and throttle cable needs to be adjusted, but nothing too tricky. The 'busa bodies tie all 4 throats together to give you a consistent vacuum signal for the ecu. I am fortunate in that I am only using 2 of the injector ports to hold the secondary injectors. I was able to thread and tap both of the center throttle body injector holes to insert fittings that allow me to keep the vacuum brakes on the car. I still may need to use an accumulator to give enough of a consistent source for the booster, we will need to test and see.

Main problem was creating a proper fuel rail that flows enough to drive the injectors and has enough meat to attach the proper fittings. I searched it out and found a source of raw extruded fuel rail in -6 and -8 ID's. I then had to buy a number of taps to fit the stock banjo and pressure regulator fittings. I had to make stand offs from the bodies as well to hold the rail firmly and allow adjustability to provide the proper compression for the injector seals.

All in all it has taken a bunch of thinking, a lot of fabrication and the total costs for the application has been under $800 Cdn. (including very special taps). We wanted to use as much of the stock Mazda stuff as possible and I believe we have been successful. It hasn't been easy, but we will be different.

We should have the rest of the car wired by this weekend and fire it up. Once it runs reliably then off to the dyno for mapping, then to a test day.

We can't wait to hear the sound and find out how much power over the Holley setup we ran last year, we will get.

Eric

Those are some BA looking throttle bodies. Nice work. They almost make me want to keep my car NA.

Yeah we're going to be tryin a PP in a few months on the engine dyno. Building a fuel map from scratch is going to suck though lol.

As for the 4 port intake manifold, we could definatly build one for you if you wanted. We started to build our own on a 20B block

The Hybusa TB's work pretty nicely.

Won't really be that bad. Just don't fall into the trap of trying to tune it speed density. Tuning a bridgeport is very similar...
