Initial D Extreme Stage for PS3
This game is out and is now available at Pac Mall.
I wanted to post to let everyone know that there is a lot of RX-7 content in that you can put on parts for the FC and FD from JDM manufacturers. Watabe rims, R-magic, Border, RE-Amemiya, MAZDASPEED and a bunch of others companies are well represented. I just started playing and you can re-create the FC2000 down to the last detail, which is pretty damned cool.
I havn't had a chance to try out the other cars yet but if any of you want to grab the game, here's some info you must know.
1) Which version to buy?
There is a japanese and an asian version. The Japanese version is 90$ and while the store clerk will tell you that it has online play, do NOT be fooled. Online play is only supported within Japan. You cannot connect to the Playstation Network Japan to play so don't bother with this one.
The asian version is 70$ (cash no tax like most things at pac mall). Buy this version and save some money. Also, it comes with a very detailed manual that translated all the menues from Japanese to english, allowing you to properly play all parts of the game.
2) Will it work on my PS3?
Yes it will. PS3 games are not region locked.
3) How many Levels/Story Mode rivals are there?
Enough. It goes right until the end of 4th stage so you can play all the races/battles up till then. There might be further unlockable enemies that we havn't seen yet in the cartoon but have been covered in the comic. I think there's an unlockable NSX battle and as always, the Bunta Challenge mode.
4) What to tweek in the options menu when you start the game?
Right when you start the game, i would advise you to go into options and crank difficulty up to the highest setting and put controller sensitivity down to minimum otherwise everything is really wonky handling wise and the game will be too easy.
