Sooooooo...... I broke one of the bolts that holds the transmission mount to the trans. YAY!!!... I drilled out the centre, heated it up and used an extractor and it moved a bit then got snug again. So I heated it up a bit more, put in a bigger extractor and used a tap T handle to turn it. Had no choice, using my vice grips just tore the teeth off them, and now I need new vice grips. And guess what happened. Can ya guess? I'll give you a hint. I yelled "YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME. ****!!" when it happened. Still stumped? Read on.
THE DAMN EXTRACTOR BROKE. So looks like I'm yanking the transmission to take it to a shop to deal with, which I hate to do for such a small chore. Before I do that next weekend do any of you have any ideas/tips/tricks/magic spells that I can try as a last ditch effort before pulling the trans? I've tried going at it with a chisel, but there just isn't enough material to bite into. Tried drilling it, but for some reason my cobalt drill bits are no match for an extractor that snapped like a toothpick. If not, what shop in London should I be going to for this? There's a machine shop I've gone to before to have the intake manifold pattern redrilled, so maybe there. I'll have to have them drill and re-tap both holes to M10. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

I HATE broken bolts.
For future reference, try left hand drill bits, sometimes they come with extractors.
Extractors break all the time and are really hard...
There are also 12" left hand drill bits for broken tension bolts.
Not sure what your extractor is made of - tungsten carbide and other carbides drill will drill most things.
If enough metal is accessible, you could try to cut a slot into the extractor with a dremel cut-off wheel.
50/50 Acetone/ATF is excellent for seized/rusted bolts.
You might also try a hammer and a center punch on one side to try to get it to back out.
The next tricks are welding something to what is left of the bolt/extractor.
After that I start breaking things to match the bolt.
