Unhappy I want it so bad....

I bought a first gen off a fellow in Mississauga who bought it from the original owner in St Catharines. He gave me the Used Vehicle Info Package and ownership signed by the original owner. I thought, cool, now I'm the second owner.

I went to the MTO today to transfer over the ownership, but the ball unravelled before my eyes. Because the Used Vehicle Info Package is too old, I think, the lady took a close look at it and started asking questions... I 'fessed' up that the second owner did not complete the sale by registering the car.

So she offered to put it through if I have a receipt from this fellow. And then she would collect the unpaid tax from him. Bummer I don't have a receipt.

I called him to explain all this and since he was at work he'll call me back this evening.

So now, I wait....

I hate the MTO, I have gone through the same thing.... I hate how they tell you "oh you dont have this with you?" So you go and get it, to wait in line anf then hear "oh you have this and this, but where is your..." man... what a **** off.

I think I had everything, ownership, safety certificate, insurance, used vehicle info package.

And since the car is an '85 it is smog exempt so I don't need that certificate. I wonder how they determine the exact production date for the exemption part though...

As you get old (and I'm pretty old) you learn the craft of research and contingency planning.

By the time you're 50, you'll have so much **** in your pocket, you'll blow them away.

Good luck with your FB....a car I'd love to have.

I have just received a fax from the owner for the bill of sale. I emailed it to my dad who will print it out for me (note to self: go buy a printer you cheap f*ck) and I'll be off to the MTO tomorrow.

If by that you mean going back to the old way before the MTO resell package and getting a receipt, gotcha, and thanks!

I got it!

The ownership is in my name and the plates are going on this afternoon.

The personalized plates will be in before Christmas.

At this time, I don't know the car well enough to take it across the border. I got it safetied but I worry about things that might leave the car stranded in Detroit.

It is definately low on power. I'm thinking clogged cats. Maybe that'll be my winter project, Racing Beat header with a new cat...
