Hmm, those are always tricky. The easiest thing to do is get a hold of a set of reverse drill bits. They cut in a counter clockwise rotation and will sometimes grab the broken stud and walk it out for you. After that, you can try extractors once a hole is drilled through the stud.

I will try^^^^ first get some good quality I mean top of the line easy outs &/or reversible bits because I bought the cdn tire ones and it broke off in the stud, that was already in the houing and that where the duck got fucked for me and I had to remove the engine from the chasis and get a professsional stud remover to do the job and it ain't cheap.
You will also need a right angle drill to get the maximum leverage and angle. You MAY if this start to go south need a helicoil kit
pm me if you need more direction

Oh, well either way you have to drill it, you can drill it tap it, and put a bolt in there and weld the bolt to the stud, but you still have to drill it, thats a dilly of a pickle best of luck!

just to make sure you got it DO NOT USE CHEAP TOOLS FOR THIS JOB!!!
My adventure started with an easy out, which promptly broke, leaving me a bolt i couldnt really drill into due to the plug of tool grade steel in it. but without options what can u do, so i broke 2 more drill bits off in there tryin to free the easy out. bought some expensive cobalt drill bits which helped a little bit but not really, then came the dremel zip bit which is the only thing i found that would scratch the easy out chunk. eventually i got enough of the easy out to show by drillin around it carefully that i could get a centre punch on it an started whackin it back an forth, while heating the area with a torch and then usin a can of compressed air upside down to flash freeze the easyout.
took 16 hours, good luck

if the stud broke due to being overtightened you might be able to use a strong magnet and just spin it out,ive had luck with this b4. if its broke from being seized in the alluminum, good luck its not fun. def dont use cheap easy outs

How big is the stud? I've never tried this, just a suggestion...but what if you welded a smaller nut (that will fit into the opening) to it, so that it's above the surface, then weld a bigger nut on to that? Or anything strong that would work as a spacer I guess..

All good suggestions above.... but the only way your going to remove a broken stud from a rotor housing is by using carbide drill bit's....starting with a smallish bit and working your way up until most of the stud is gone, then with a small chisel or easy out work the rest of the stud out.

The real trick with easy outs, as Jim said, is to drill most of the bolt out, then the easy-out will actually collapse the bolt as it backs it out. Buy the extractors with a long flute as opposed to the threaded ones. NAPA may have them: Ultra Pro 55007
