How man K's should i go with HID's in Toronto

I asked this question in the 2nd gen forum but i wanted to get the opinion of fellow canadians since the laws may be different for HID's. I also wanted to know if anyone got hassled for installed HID's in their 7's

A buddy of mine is working at a company which just imorted a bunch of HID kits. He hooked up the 6000k, 8000k and 10,000k. I was going to pickup the 6000k because anything higher than that is illiegal, but he was telling me that i should go with the 8000 because it looks much nicer than the 6000k.
is their a big difference it the brightness for both? am i going to get hassled by cop's for the 8000k?
What do you guys think?

Well, considering your friend only got the kits with those temp ranges, I know they're not going to last too long. Probably made in Korea or something like that.
6000k is the lowest of the list you gave so yes, pick the 6000K. Any higher and the colour will look more purple and then pink/purple in the 10000K range.
Alot of people have misconcpetions regarding HID's and think picking the higher range in colour is better.
To get the most amount of light on the road is 4300K. That's the colour temps on all stock vehicles with HID's as options.

found this site from goolging

http://www.lltek.com/PRS_bin/PRS_68...eration_HID.htm

Under "Understanding the "K" Factor - K stands for Kelvin." was some very good info, this actually answered my question since blue light's in Ontario are illiegal and the local cops do bust ***** for blue lights

Well, if they're really nice kits they should come with proper HID DS2 or DSR bulbs. There are a ton of kits out there saying they're DOT legit and stuff like that so be careful.
Alot of other clubs get their kits from specific sources making sure they get the "quality" stuff without resorting to the "cheap, convinent" stuff.

I got my HID's from Xenondepot. Which is conviently located right here in T.O. So getting delivery of the product was extremely fast!
Absolutely one of the best upgrades I've done to my car! The HID's help tremendously!!

Check them out... www.xenondepot.com
You won't be disappointed!

No,
I got my H4 direct replacement because I hate the whole projector style lamp design. Cutoff is horendous! You're trying to see what's in front of you and these things are designed with a cutoff!! Defeats the purpose of having as much light as possible!
The cutoff on my Mazda3 is crazy! I can only see 80-100ft in front of me... Can't see road signs all that well. I try to drive with my highbeams on as much as possible so I can see stuff on the road!

Reflector based headlights are still way better... that's just my opinion of course...
