Headlight Switch problem.

Headlight Switch problem.
I'm hoping the experts out there can help me out. Whenever I pull the leaver that controls the headlights on/off - towards me the high beams go on...that's a good thing 'cause that's what it's supposed to do. However, when I push the leaver to the ON position the high beams do NOT come on and the there is no lights. Any ideas? Anyone!!
Thanks in advance.

Here's a couple of write-ups on headlight switch repairs in the 2nd gen archives, one by member Icemark, who iirc also sells rebuilt FC headlight and wiper and assorted other switches. I don't know if they fit the symptoms you're describing, but probably a good place to start on understanding what might be the problem.

Hi,
If you have a Fb (from your avatar) this is a thread in the 1st gen section describhing how to fix this problem. Happened to me and you have to slightly disassemble the combo switch and then flood it with contact cleaner while working the switch to circulate the fluid and flush out the oxidation. Age has just made the switch contacts conduct poorly.
