I love the series. But you can't expect to be so many things. There are limitations to everything.

I believe they will be offering alot of DLC stuff, the game really is quite good besides the lack of certain cars

I love the game would take it over forza any day of the week

 

Guys take it for what it is personally it feels exactly like forza except looks nicer forza 3 really set the bar im sure the next installment of forza wont be much better. I think GT5 is great game im saying that cause i have a G27 wheel playing racing games with anything but that sucks. Forza 3 has that gay xbox 360 wheel or i probably wouldnt of bought GT5. If you got the money get the G27 wheel or G25 wheel i know its alot but worth the investment and thats coming from a broke FD owner

 

^^ I tried looking for one locally, and can find none. only places that seems to have it is Amazon or eBay? did you buy it locally, or have to outsource for it? g27 or 25, 27 preferred. I want one ASAP!!! lol....

 

so i Played GT5 on a friends PS3... and honestly, I'm less then impressed... I did a few races, and tried to do the one challenge on test gear track with a lotus.. and I realized this games fault... (unless it can be adjusted some how) is the lack of "feedback" or vibrations, to the controller... multiple multiple times I would be taking a corner, and then the back end of the car would just step out, suddenly, now I know its a mid engined lotus, and they do that... but why cant the game tell me that the cars about to do that... forza does, and it easy to tell when your tires are on the edge of letting go, the controller will vibrate more and more... but in GT5 the developers must have decided thats not needed... but 15 miatas, and 234 honda civics were...

admist all its faults, I still prefer Forza 3... although GT5 has lots of small things I prefer over Forza

So was just doing some of the Supercar races with my done up '90 FC. I was actually able to win the supercar challenge with the FC. Man was it fun racing agaisnt Veyrons n 599 gtb's. I sugguest trying it out.

Anyways, prodigy, i'm assuming your friend doesn't have a dual shock controller lol. i seem to get a good amount of feedback through mine. and i can usually tell when the cars about to go out. except in the wet actually, but i thought the game did fairly well. I agree it doesn't have all the classics that we'd like but it does still have 1000+ cars, and i'm sure there will be dlc for it as well.

I'm very jealous of the G27, and can't wait to get mine for Christmas, i'm going to use an rx-7 seat and build my own play seat for it, time provided.

Alfred, I don't know which store you got yours from, as there were no midnight releases i was aware of!

Did anyone pre-order from game stop to get the two bonus cars? because I only got the Nascar, and not the McLaren, which was, and still is a big **** off!

And everyone must agree, as the 7's sit in the garage, it's nice to be able to drive one in your basement, living room, bedroom, where ever you play your ps3!

i bought it like almost 2 months ago it was on sale for 299.99 before the big GT5 rush...Now i just need an FD seat and possible a dashboard so i can mock up something cool. but for now its just a nightstand and a fold-in chair lol trust me guys this makes a big difference i tried playing with a controller and almost fell asleep. And to answer your question i bought it at staples yeah i know i was shocked to even see it there

I have the wheel from GT4 and it works fine. Only thing that sucks is it doesnt have the gaystation button in the middle, so I have to use a 2nd controller to send messages and stuff. Does the clutch and shifter work at all on the G25/27?

I wish you could turn off shadows. The lack of anti-aliasing really, really pisses me off. Makes all the shadows look 8 bit. Plus the fact in the desert at noon, its black as the night in the cockpit of my FD (and just about 99% of the other cars out there). And the fact that headlights do dick all at night. Etc. Etc. Etc.

 

Does anyone know how to adjust gears individually? Whenever I try to adjust them all I can change is the final gear/top speed ratio.

I don't have a PS3 but my son has a Xbox360 and all this talk of GT5 got me interested in trying a decent racing simulator. I then discovered his Xbox had come with Forza2 and it had sat for years untried. It was good for a gaming novice like me but driving with a joystick just isn't right. Then I saw drezjdmrx7's post and the awesome Fd based racing cockpit. I still have a pair of seats from my Fb when I swapped them out for some leather ones so with some laminated pine I spent a few hours last night fabbing this version. Haven't tried it out yet but it's feels great just sitting behind it!

Anyone up for some online racing tonight? Maybe set some restrictions and have some races? :P Right now me & my bros are just doing time attack competition with our separate cars on SS Route 5. 350hp max., only engine, intake & exhaust upgrades, no drivetrain or anything like that. And fully adjustable suspensions are allowed, same with carbon hoods & wings and any cosmetics. And Sports Soft tires. Doesn't have to be that, just saying...lol.

 

lol there may be a handful of people who would want to race an FB on a video game.

 

please, i can think of many people who would rather one fb than 10 civics, and miatas...
