Fun with a DeTomaso Panterra - Hwy 16

Had some fun today on Old Hwy 16 heading south to Manotick with a white Detomaso Panterra with a plate "ITS FAST".

We both came off each light we hit pretty hard, with me behind him. I must say I was impressed with my stock and original 13b. He did leave me, but not by a whole lot, and I never passed 6200 rpm.

When we hit the 4 lane portion at Woodroofe he matted it from about 80 km, and I must admit, the torque of that Ford v8 left me quite a bit behind.

Never the less, the whole experience left me with good respect for our cars - get up and go for a lot less than it cost him!

For those who don't know what a Panterra is, its a 70's supercar with a mid mounted Ford 351. If I remember, they put out around 400hp or so.

I've always liked the Panterra, and they're not overly expensive either...

Nope, it was white all over. I'm not positive, but the exhaust sounded louder than stock, and the rear tires also looked wider than stock. But to tell the truth, you see so few of them, I could easily be wrong.

Sound weird to hear a v8 scream from a body that looks like a Ferrari or something Italian...
