By Friday nights, what time do you mean, Like how late will these go to? Any way we can create a facebook page just for us canadians and that way ppl can post updates via blackberyy/iphone so the rest of us can check it while being out that way if there is a location change, or we grab food, or someones car breaks down and tools are needed the rest of us are informed? I'd be happy to create one and run it.
My problems with yorkdale
-it's too close to the ghetto, I don't like the ghetto (or its roads)
-It has a movie theatre and subway in it, which means friday nights its usually busy
(and its usually punk kids)
-it has poor lighting for photos
-it has security around the clock with cctv everywhere, I dont like this.
-it involves the 401 for most of us, and I kind of hate the 401
Here are my proposed solutions!
-meeting in a more suburban, affluent area like woodbridge/oakville/markham (central/west/east)
Benefits of this are as follows:
-more parking and lighting!
-better roads that don't have potholes, ttc busses and cars who have no chance of passing safety cutting u off randomly bc the driver probably has no insurance anyways for that pos
-not using the 401 directly, think 400/403/404 respectively
-the best benefit however, is there is lots more to do in these suburban areas as far as restaurants/bars/cafe's and general "chilling" is concerned whereas there is NOTHING around yorkdale and I don't know about you guys, but no way in hell am I going to moxies underground and leaving the 7 outside AT YORKDALE (where cars generally get broken into). At least in the suburbs you can sit in moxies next to the window, or in the summer on the patio, and monitor the cars/enjoy your time with friends.
I don't know what the allure with yorkdale is, maybe its just close to your house, in which case that argument is moot anyways because you own a DRIVERS car which means you ENJOY driving regardless if 94 is 1.40$. Speaking of which, if you guys want to do a DAY meet say on a SATURDAY and go for a cruise, I'm open to doing one ANYTIME this season with a bbq at my house and a cruise up north (I live in caledon, so north only gets better). Think BCM, but only for one day and not so far out of the GTA sorta thing.
/end morning rant.
Cliffs: **** yorkdale

Coming to a track near u!
iTrader: (5)
Suggestions:
West: Boston Pizza 35 Square One Drive, Mississauga, ON
East: Boston Pizza Major Mackenzie (@404), Markham, ON (10 mins. north of the 401)
Time:
Start either 7 or 8pm
Reasoning:
* Casual enough for a drink or more if you're hungry.
* Patio's at each location face the parking lot so people weary of leaving their car unattended can keep an eye on it. (Who doesn't love a
patio?)
* Large parking lots adjoined to facility will accommodate unlimited cars.
* Well lit (mostly) for photography etc.
* Both represent the two ends of the city well and are accessible by/from the 401/404/403
I am not hellbent on BP, other suggestions welcome obviously. I'm just trying to assist in getting this off the ground. I will only likely be able to attend every third one myself.
