Dam boy! Cutting it close. Do you think I can get my car painted and assembled in two days? LOL I will be heading straight to Classicauto body. See you there? Or PM me your number and we can meet early? I was hoping to be at Classicauto by 10:30am....

Paint the hood. Exposed CF just says "rice" to me - "hey, lookit, I be mad tight dori dorifto, dude." And the Frankenstein comment, too. If its not a VW Harlequin Golf, body panels should match.

This is what I think runs through peoples heads. My old hood rusted so I picked this up in the scrap yard. I'm going to paint it soon.
But like I said lots of people do it, so it must look good to them.

Yup. That's why I have a dark aluminum hood on my car - not rusted, but wanted the aluminum. People tell me they think it looks cool, they think I have a CF hood - but I don't like the look, and it just bugs me to not have the scratch for a proper paint job right now.

So I got back from breaking in the engine and tuning with 380 km on the clock. Let me just say according to my butt dyno, the motor is making the same, if not more power @ 15-16 psi as it was @ 20 psi with the old turbo. I'm pulling 80% duty cycles @ 6,400 rpm @ 15-16 psi with my BIGGER injector setup (670/2225) at a higher fuel pressure (44 psi) then before! Granted I only quickly tuned the fuel and left it richer then I want but that's totally unexpected. I'm really curious what this thing wlll make when I run out of fuel.
And for those of you who were worried of transition, I don't even see a blip on the wideband when the secondaries come on, let alone a bog. Triple thumbs up at the injector dynamics ID2000 injectors.
Ready for the DGRR in a few hours. Now for some sleep.

It definitely lags more then the 500R-SP (when it was new) but its building 1 bar of boost 900 RPM sooner then the 500R-SP with the worn out turbine housing. The turbo is making as much power at 15.5 PSi as the 500R-SP was making @ 20 PSi according to the butt dyno. I can completely live with the lag but I won't know for sure until I hit up a track . It was pretty fun at the DGRR though . Once I get the 6 speed tranny I want with the 4.3 rear end and a 6th gear like the USDM 5th, the lag will be meaningless anyway and I'll be the most fuel efficient ~550 rwhp (I'm guessing) RX-7 on the road doing over 700 km to a tank.
I still need to finish tuning it anyway but I have to replace my fuel pump and fuel lines. I've reached the limit of how much the Denso can flow with current fuel demand and higher fuel pressure I want to run. Thinking about getting the Aeromotive A1000 (marine version) fuel pump which can flow 700 lbs/hour with -8 fuel lines all the way into the tank. Also, have to install my new M&W ignition CDI so I'll wait until I have all things are on board before I finish the tune. I want to do some things that I didn't have time to do before the DGRR anyway.

Naw, my car needs to be able to drive anywhere without needing special gas. Regular pump gas + water is my mix
Well, I wanted to go to Shannonville on May 8th but now that I have these things I need to do, I'm not sure. I already got a huge favor from Mazdee's to get the car going in time for the DGRR so can't ask for another lol. Plus I have some cars to tune and wait for the parts to come in anyway so I'll be busy next few weeks.
