"Lime Rock will be the end of a chapter–but not the book–for the Mazda rotary,” he confirmed. “While rotary production is on hiatus in Hiroshima, the program is far from over. Work continues on the next-generation rotary engine, and we look forward to sharing information with you about it, when we can. "

It was a really cool weekend at Lime Rock. Big Mazda-supporter presence, and a lot of people talking about the end of the era. There was sort of a buzz around the 8s.
Was in the SpeedSource paddock on Sat. morning and tried to get Sylvain to spill on the future (both the diesel, and the future rotary, which he seemed convinced about) but he wouldn't give any details. Didn't really expect him to, but had to try.

For those who are interested, my girlfriend (freelances in the automotive section of The Chronicle Herald in Nova Scotia) wrote an article about it, and got some interview time with Sylvain Tremblay and Wil Nonnamaker.

Worth a read if I do say so my self. (Some nice pics in the gallery too, even if they didn't use any of her fireball pictures.)

Glad you liked it. She wanted to do the topic justice as she hadn't seen anything written about it that had more then a very high level description. She's proud that she seemed to get it right and the rotary folks are liking it. (SpeedSource, Sahlen's and RotaryNews all picked it up on the Facebook pages.) Nothing worse than writing something that those "in the know" don't think is good.
