Engine build

OK. Even more updates today. After checking out part of the ottawa meet cruise with nfs05 in his powerless yet agile 323,we who managed to give a trans am a good run for it's money in the turns, i still managed to get some work done.
With a little persevirance and a few cuts niks and scrapes today i managed to get the intercooler in stalled followed by the oil cooler and SS oil lines. Also managed to install Rad. and then finally brought the rear end up and installed driveshaft.
Even managed to move removed a few useless things to make room for intercooler piping
Now with some luck exhaust manifold, downpipes, and haltech will be done this week as well.
Ottawa cruise for my car is a distant little dot at the end of a boobie trapped tunnel

OK, So a little furthur progress just brings me that much closer to firing this thing up!
Sorry no pics can't find the digicam.
-At this point, the TT manifold is done, and downpipes are 80% complete.
-The E6X is installed and harness is all done as well! (talk about major PITA!)
-Fuel pump, FPR and lines are all connected, just need to install the injectors, (anyonw have one of those plastic spacers for the primary fuelrail??!!)
I may have left out a few things i can't remember at this point but that's about it for now.
P.S. Why does this **** always take longer then even your worst case senario!!??!

Cleaning components
Just busting in, im about to rebuild my gsl-se 13b. Looking at the pics it doesn't look like you did too much cleaning, or was it impossible to clean?
Did you soak the parts in parts cleaner for a night or two?
Just Curious,

I got lazy and didn't clean the outside of the engine very well, when i probably should have and i already got some comments on that, but other then that it was pretty damn clean inside when it went together.

Well a little more progress last tuesday evening, i skipped out on work and nik dropped by.
In a couple hours we managed to relocate the battery, to behind the passenger seat, powered up the haltech for the first time and everything seemed to be connected right (means i didn't screw anywiring up, YAY) then closed up the fuel system. Had to do some less then rudementary fuel system priming manually which i do not car to make public .
After that was taken care of and we figured out the cause of the 0 fuel pressure was the FPR was set to 0, a couple quick turns and it quickly jumped up to over 60 psi. Now with the base fuel pressure set to 40 psi, i'm only that much closer to starting it up
If only this damn rain would let up today.

Nik and John (Nik and eViLRotor) dropped by around 6 and helped me fill up all fluids in engine at which point we found a couple of leaks from unused water ports for throttle body which meant having to take UIM off.
Then a couple more problems with no trigger signal as i followed the incorrect write up for CAS wiring with E6X so we hard to strip that and rewire it. So after that we got trigger signal, Only when NIK turned the CAS by HAND!!! since my poor battery was tired out from cranckin over the engine powering haltech and the mega loud thing i call a fuel pump. Luckily Azad dropped by just as i was heading out to scavange a bettery and swapped it in.
Woot now car cranks over fast! RPM is showing on laptop but now firing, at which point Nik asks me if my coil harness is plugged in, which it was not! (ops, sorry guys!)
So with harness all plugged in, we finally get spark and to cut it short after some messing around 0 in timing.
Connect fuel pump crank engine over, and on the 3rd try it takes off! sounds awsome, vacuum is good but i have a few leaks, from what i heard -50Kpa vacuum at idle, so for those who understand it great i have no clue but i guess it's good.
Now all i have to do is find vacuum leaks and finish up a fure things then insure the car and start tuning
Soooon!!
