Elusive exhaust gaskets, where to aquire one in Ontario?

Hi guys and gals. Thought I might as you where you get your gaskets from? I have checked with a few auto parts stores in Owen Sound already to no avail on pretty much any gasket for my old 79. I am specifically looking for the exhaust manifold to engine gasket. Is there any parts store, besides Mazda directly, in Ontario or even Canada that can get the exhaust mani gasket?

I hope not too expensive. I had trouble with them though telling me they could get a carb rebuild kit then waiting 2 weeks before calling me and telling me it was NLA.

I have like a dozen of these.

If FD ones fit (they're individual per housing, so as long as the housing bolt pattern didn't change between the 12A and the 13B) I'll send you a pair for 10 bucks if you are interested. They're multi layer stainless steel and last forever.

FYI the dealer wants a fortune for these. Like 80 bucks for an FC one.

Thats what I figured, and now that you mention it Terrh, I think I remember the dealer wanting $40+ for a 12A gasket.

I have just confirmed that I will need a manifold gasket ASAP as within the next week my 79 which currently does not have an exhaust system mounted will be my only car for a short time. I will look into seeing if the FD gaskets will work Terrh. I'll PM you with my findings.

Mazdatrix can't get the gasket to me fast enough without incurring a huge shipping cost. I really hate putting myself in this position, but I couldn't refuse the offer I got on my daily driver which has been for sale for some time now. I had actually given up on selling it hence why I didn't have the gasket in question and took the original exhaust off the 7 before having the replacement parts.

So order the $40 gasket from Mazda and have it next day without worring about shipping costs and duties.
I dont see what the big deal is?

Order the cheapest one they have. If that so happens to be a 13B gasket, get it, cut it in half and trim the excess. Trust me, it'll work, I've done it.

Oh I trust it will work. Unfortunately my plan for FD gaskets from Terrh didn't work. They fit fine and may work on later 12A's, but the 79 12A has a couple extra ports below and to the middle of the main exhaust ports. All 12A's have these to my knowledge, but they are bigger and placed slightly differently on the 79 because of the thermal reactor. FD gaskets do not fully cover these ports. So its off to the Mazda dealer on Monday. Hopefully it doesn't take them forever to search through their records to find what I need. The SA/FB does not have its parts in the computer system.
