Dyna is an amazing shop. I don't think they tune rotaries...but I could be wrong.

When I say tune I'm referring to the programming of an aftermarket ECU on a dyno or street.

Are you talking about the same thing? Or do you mean 'tune' as in mod the car to support 550whp, because that they can probably do. Why do you want so much power? What are your goals with the car?

Furthermore: there is a sticky link at the top of the Canadian section with all the shops that work on rotaries.

Be more specific in your posts please.

Who built the engine anyways? Are the internals designed to handle 550whp?

Stop trolling.

i think most of us FD owners have our cars tuned by Marco Jorge (thewird) on the forums stock or modded, i personally had great experience and my car runs great after the tune and i also have a pfc,
last time i talked to him, i believe his own car was makin around 450 HP at the wheels

I'm gonna go on a limb and say your car is probably not ready for 550 rwhp given your post count and the fact your asking about a random dyno shop that tunes pistons. What all does your car have? I mean everything engine related.

What exactly are supporting mods to you? You still have not mentioned one thing about your car. I have no problem tuning it but I have a feeling your power goals are unrealistic. What was your setup where you made 450 and at what boost level. Details are important.

So which is it, a GT35R or a GT40R? They're 2 very different turbo's... Either way don't expect 550 rwhp with either of the 2.

I'm not joking....what dyno did you use to get 450 whp with a GT35?
Post a dyno sheet....and who tuned your last set-up?

Esp. if you are running this rich your power is wayyyy off.

FWIW, Any knowledgeable dyno operator can fudge the numbers on the dyno very easily and your video doesn't really show much. Personally maybe it is just me but your car is a JDM so the speed goes to 180kmh and as such I find it is accelerating pretty slowly actually.

Don't forget most people here will talk about horsepower to the wheels, engine horsepower is not something we talk about. Also, when supporting mods are mentioned it refers to the oil cooling, water cooling, water injection delivery capabilities etc. Also, the engine is a stock built engine, ported etc etc.

Good luck with everything and fwiw I wouldn't be running 18-20psi on the street but again maybe that is just me.

Finally, you are not in Ontario are you?

To get back on topic, I work in the same building as Dynamotorsports, Tony and Henry are really solid guys. If I ever needed a piston car tuned they would be the first on my list. They played around with my vert on their dyno one night with a power fc. He knows the basics of rotary's however I wouldn't trust them with a high output rotary like you are talking about and they would probably concur with that statement too. Thats just not their forte. Finding a tuner in the gta is a headache. If your looking for raw power for a drag strip, go see marco at magnus, however if you ever want to drive the car on the streets your best bet would be the general consensus on this thread thewird.

WOW what a story we have here. I am just wondering where the original poster lives. I have driven across Canada a number of times and 24 hours from Toronto (driving time) puts me in Alberta or Nova Scotia (well actually Nova Scotia is closer). I once drove from Saskatoon to Toronto in 23 hours with 4 hours being a guest of the OPP Detachment in Nipigon and making the stretch from Regina to Winnipeg in just over 4 hours, but thats a different story for another time.

If the original poster lives in Alberta, there are a number of places out in B.C. that can help (there are guys out there that make big power rotaries) If the OP lives in Nova Scotia there are guys south of you that are closer and can tune the car as well.

A number of well meaning people with tons of experience building high HP turbo motors have provided good information in this post and without backup its really hard to establish how to help the OP, if he really needs or wants any help at all.

Just a point of interest, I along with a few others in this post, have driven real 400+ rwhp cars. Every car I have driven that makes that kind of power really accelerates a ton harder than the video shows. I would be surprised if the car is making over 300 rwhp. He!! my 420 hp (engine) Jag at 4,000 lbs pulls harder than that from a roll.

Something smells a bit fishy or newbie about all of this.

Eric

p.s. after finding out that Jim and Marco are making well over 400 whp, I understand how they can pull low 1:30's out of their cars at Mosport. Cricky, the run up the Andretti straight must be mind blowing.

I agree with 23Racer, if your that far out, there may be a closer option for you. Where do you live?

23Racer: I reach about 240+ km/h at the end of the back straight

Eh, don't worry about it. What matters is you enjoy your car. Where do you live anyway though?

Since you blew your previous engine, did you check to make sure your turbo's turbine was still ok? It's not uncommon for an apex seal to spit out of the engine and hurt the turbine.
