Dunnville track day
http://home.cogeco.ca/~vette/dunnvil...me/circuit.htm
Aug. 24th from 4pm - 8pm cost is $100 less pending on number of registers.
I will pass along more info in a couple of days.
Plan is to run the circuit counterclocwise since it flows better. Keep in mind that this track is hard on brakes. See pics.
Post if you are interested in coming.

Go Hard....or Go Home
From the few people I know who have been there, they tell me the track is very narrow and not very long. I have been told it is a small Shannonville, which means very hard on tires and brakes. Up to you guys, but you may want to check it out a little more before you go all the way down there.

I am told, and this is not fact, that Dunnville has been closed down. I was told this at a track day I was at yesterday. You may want to call the track and confirm.

Solo1 just signed an agreement to hose events #6 and 7 at dunville... so that would seem odd.
The solo1 event date was announced August 5, 2005...
Where are all the race tracks going? to become landfills?

I thought that Dunnville was closed down as well...
I went there last year with SVTOA with my Cobra and Focus, never ran my RX-7 there. We were the second group to rent the track. It is very narrow and very short. And yes it is very, very hard on brakes and tires. My then new Cobra (only 8,000km on the clock at the time) needed new tires and brakes all around by the end of the weekend. Mind you this was after a full weekend running 2 full days. The Focus was fine, feathered tires, worn brakes, but nothing unusual and nothing needed replacing.
Keep in mind that this track is very technical and was designed as a teaching facility and for Solo 1. There is only really one place that you can pass. I had fun there but I was there to improve my technique, not to go ***** out. This past weekend I was at Shannonville with SVTOA again and we had a blast.
I heard that Dunnville got shut down last fall just after thanksgiving weekend. One of my buddies was the last group to run there as far as I know. If it has reopened I would not know.
Check out the pics and details of the track on the SVTOA Toronto chapter web site for ontrack events

Here is a pic of my Cobra on the track, Notice that the weels are black from brake dust and how narrow it is. It was not unusual that a couple of cars had minor brake fires too... Mine shot flames a couple of times

I just called David and he is very cautious as to who can go.
He indicated that there are a lot of fast cars and race cars on that day. He also mentioned something about driving school.
So best to contact David Gaunt.....I probably wont sign up for the lapping day since I'm having a hard time getting a day off. I do intend to go there after work.

As a heads up. Save some brakes for teh drive home, and make sure you stay on teh tarmac.
There are no curbings, and nothing that can be considered run offs. Braking points are obscure and hard to determine. No tire barriers. The run offs are hard packed sun baked clay and rock that weeds can't even grow on. If you go off you run the chance of bending suspension parts, bending a wheel, ripping off front air dams or lips, destroying rads, oil coolers or ripping the oil pan off. Play safe!

I talked to Dave about this....He told me there's no problem who goes BUT, you have to register in advance, entries are limited to around 20 cars, you can get all the info. you need by e-mailing Dave......gaunt@nornet.on.ca
You must be there for the drivers meeting at 3:30, track time is from 4pm to 8pm
