My alarm went off this morning at 6:45. Just in time for the autox event at scotiabank place (if it isnt held off by rain). I got up and sat down to breakfast and noticed the clock said 7:30 (registration time). I double checked another clock and it was right, 7:30, so I bolted out the door. As i was headding to the highway there was a fairly major accident up ahead, so there were alot of cops around. As i passed by the crowd, one of the cuisers followed me. I didnt think i was doing anything wrong, so I kept driving normally. Right as I was started speeding up in preparation for the on ramp, the bugger put on his cherries and pulled me over. "My licence has been suspended", he tells me. And get this... over a $42 speeding ticket I forgot to pay.

So i had to call my dad to pick me up, 'cause they wouldnt let me drive home (Aboput 6 blocks). I'm gonna miss autox, and probably will have to take the bus till monday... if i can even afford to fork out $42 for the ticket, and then another $100 to re-enstate my licence!! What a rip off!

I guess the lesson here is, pay your freaking tickets. Even if they are only $42 (Which is a dumb ticket... 75kph in a 60.. HA!)

Hmm... MTO opens at 9am... registration closes at 9:30. I MIGHT beable to pull it off.

 

Ugh.. so i went to the MTO, and they told me I cant pay the ticket there, but I can pay the $150 re-enstatement fee. What happened to $100? Oh, and heres the catch; I have to wait till monday to pay the ticket, and it'll take 4 business days before I can pick up my new "temp permit" after which my licence will arrive in the mail 2-6weeks later. What kinda system is this? Grrr... i'm just so angery...not to mention interest on a ticket? I was reading the back of the notice the cop gave me, and it says the ticket will be subjet to additional late fees, and this may affect my credit score.

WTF?

well, it was a wicked event (and i know that totally does not make you feel better. and i'm not a jerk, i swear, haha).

HAHA, 10min i after i got my licence back, i was ripping up and down the highway, a week later i got pulled over for having a Surrendered licence. the cop approched me likea complete asshat, i was freakin out in fear of losing it again for 6 months. after he let me sit there, he cam back and said that my suspentioned had been served, and that i need to go to the registry for the 60$ re-instatement of my licence. which was payed 2 months in advance. a week later i got a letter from the registry (which i didn't go back to) saying that my licence was re-instated as of July 29 but i found it kinda odd that i was recieving this letter 3 weeks late.
trust me, they love making a suspention a huge ordeal just as a deterant. i think it's great that cops think like that no one will question them because it's inconvienent.
