I made a complaint about this several years ago when Max and Tony were the two Canadian moderators. I was recently asked to renew my complaint. And I wrote the below to Silverrotor via PM. (Tony, I hope you don't mind my stating my complaint publicly. I just think it has been in the shadows for too long and concerns all users.)

Well I tried to find the old posts by him but it looks like the forum has dumped most of ovrevd’s old posts.

I sent you and Max a detailed message detailing everything but I no longer have a copy. I tried looking for it but regardless the posts I was speaking about are mostly gone now. But I do recall that the most telling thing from the posts was that Streetpower and ovrevd shared that same telephone number as evinced by the posts. Ovrevd claimed to be a customer of Streetpower’s in his first posts on the forum and claimed to have recently moved from New York. Ovrevd claimed that he had a bridgeported or half-bridge motor done by Streetpower. At the time of these posts I was still a customer of Streetpower and I knew every customer that had their car at the shop for about a period of two years. During this period there was no person such as ovrevd that attended the shop. It may seem odd that I would know so much about a shop but it literally took me forever to get my car back and I was there constantly. I was never away long enough for a car to slip in get bridgeported and then leave. This is what raised my suspicion and why I started examining ovrevd’s posts. And upon further examination it was clear that they are the same person. He has 48 posts on this forum and only 15 are now searchable by me. The missing posts made it very obvious that the person using the id’s are one and the same. Ovrevd’s main purpose on this forum was to post promoting Streetpower. Once you made inquiries he stated that this was his “brother’s” id. But even if that was true it is still dishonest in the sense that ovrevd was pretending to be a customer. He never posted to come to his “brother’s” shop.

Anyhow from the posts that remain there still is some evidence that point to them being the same person.

In the below thread Streetpower asks about an exhaust system. 87gtr provides the answer and instead of Streetpower thanking 87gtr for the answer. Ovrevd thanks him.

In the below thread ovrevd asks a question regarding Jason (rx7store’s customer) and then again at the end he changes id to Streetpower and responds.

In the below FD for sale thread started by Streetpower, ovrevd’s id is used to bump the thread. Not the typing style in posts 11 and 13. Both Streetpower and ovrevd share that same typing character traits of adding excessive periods…. This is visible in many threads if you care to compare.

You should also note that there was a two year gap in posts from ovrevd after you talked to him last time. He just stopped posting. Why would he stop posting if he actually existed and did nothing wrong? He has recently revived the id.

Now the above is not as conclusive as the previous complaint I wrote to you and Max but I doubt any of us have that message. But I think with the few posts that are visible it is clear to me that they are the same person. It is one thing to breach forum rules by having have two ids but he has created the extra id to promote himself. This is nothing less than fraud in my mind, which would require the banning of both ids.

Like I said before I am not out to win a popularity contest. Rx7s are my favourite childhood car and I will always own one or more. You are a person that made that Rx7 ownership very difficult for me and I do not want other enthusiasts to suffer a similar fate. When you take a stand as often as I do you are naturally going to turn some people off. I can live with that. What I can’t live with is doing nothing when I see an injustice.

I'd love to race aaron cake but I doubt my RX-7 sees the light of day this year. The engine has an issue and I don't have the will to fix it. Maybe in the skyrine lol. Not sure how much of a battle that would be though, I think his turbo is pretty huge hahaha.

We have to have another southwest meet this year.

I bought a car off of overrevvd once (my 1983 GSL). I can't say he is the same person or not but overrevvd was driving a white bmw 3 series, I've never met streetpower afiak.

 

Well to add to the confusion there is another legitimate local member that has the ID "OVRREVD" not to be confused with "ovrevd". You dealt with the former, since the latter is only a figment of someone's imagination.


But back on point it would be great to see some competitive drag racing between shops and or owners this year.

We got the car from a good friend of mine in NJ a couple weeks ago and finally started to rip into it.

 

Those 31"x14" tires just hardly fit!!

Chassis will be certified for the 25.1E sfi rules (Full Bodied Car Tube Chassis Roll Cage - 7.49 Seconds and Quicker; 2,800 Lbs. Maximum) But we will be making it 3/4 chassis. We are going with the Strange Front Strut Systems. Looks just like the Aerospace Front Struts that theracestore.com sells.
