It seems to be centered pretty well on yours so did you encounter this problem? I will try to get some rotating end extension rods from autostore tomorrow to see if any will fit but it concerns me because I don't know if my transmission is mounted off centered or something.

Anyone has any ideas?

Also, the little bushing on the end of the shifter was completed gone and I only retrievedn two tiny little broken pieces from the tranny itself, so I think tranny had already ate the rest of it. Would this cause problems?

Thanks
Hiya Tangoshark.

ummm what the heck is going on with your tranny? i dont think that its the tranny tower that offset to one side....your whole transmission seems to be misaligned

whats the history on the car, was the transmission swapped? check all your ppf bolts and see if they are loose or something.

the bushing on the end is hard plastic...id do a trans fluid flush and have a look and see if the pieces drain out. take note if there are any metal shavings stuck to the transmission drain plug as it is magnetic.

Thanks for responding, Ken.

I don't think the tranny was swapped but the previous owner did have mazda dealer put in a re-man'ed engine about 60K miles ago. Too bad I already had a shop do my tranny flush as soon as I bought the car so if the bushing you were talking about was broken inside the tranny it would have already been flushed out.

I am not clear what "bushing on the end" you were talking about it? PPF bushings?

Hello,

I got a similar problem.
My tranny is on to the left, driver side for LHD.
Previous owner got remac motor from a dealership as well.
Did you figure out what was wrong?
Mine is 93 Base.
Thanks.
