CTMP (Mosport GP) Lapping Day - May 25, 2012

It'll be spring before some of us have our cars prepared and ready for the track. And what better way to spend a snowy (or muddy or rainy) winter day than dreaming of your next track day! Aren't you looking forward to driving through the new tunnel at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, let alone the newly paved section between turns nine and ten!
There will be two groups with 23 cars in each - 30 minutes on track/30 minutes off. $425 for the full day includes lunch. Drivers must apply and provide a track driving history. For more details go to www.frankewald.com or PM me.

Currently there are about a dozen openings available. Novice spots are all full. Convertibles must have an aftermarket roll bar.

Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank, will the advanced group be open lapping or restricted passing zones?

There has to be restricted, point-by passing zones - well back from corners. It's advanced lapping but not racing.
Good question.

Okay thank you! I have found in over 20 years of organizing lapping days that restricted passing tends to lead to more havoc and bad driving. We found that by making everyone responsible for learning to use their mirrors and learning to be passed (much harder than passing someone) we had far less incidents of people running off the track while trying to stay up at speed until the next passing zone etc, and far less frustrated people who got fed up with high powered cars taking off where the passing zone starts only to be caught 1 or 2 corners later. We also found it made them a much more conscientious and better street driver. I am sure you will have no issue filling these spots.

There are still spaces available. Drivers must have Mosport experience. There is a firm cap of 46 participants split into two groups of 23. This will provide lots of room. This event is insured and for the safety of participants medical support is on-site. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Hope to see you there.

I was at the track last weekend. The changes are amazing. I hope you'll consider joining this event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park's GP track.

I don't have a rotary engine in the line up yet. This'll be the first time in 6 years - hope someone can change this. Space is still available plus I've got a novice opening available. You must have small track experience. Contact me!

Phew, there's a rotary in the line up! There are 7 spots available. Lots of track time. Let me know if you want to fit this in your schedule.
